Hey guys..
Just waiting on my new 16 1500 ram to show up at the dealer but im looking to do a lil exhaust work..

Been reading a lil on the y pipe up front and a x pipe...I know where the y pipe joins off the headers but im lost as to where the x pipe goes..I cant seem to find a picture of one..

2 nd question...Does the x pipe replace the muffler or is it an addition somewhere up or down the line.I had stock muffler off my 2010(sad to see her go)and the 14" mag flow on and luved its grumble and atleast plan on that the day i pick it up..
I see lotsa sound bite vids and a cpl with true duels made but i dont wanna do all that cause of cost and how long it will last in the climate i live in..

So im thinkin a y pipe up front,14"mag flow and this x pipe..I just need a pic or something so i can see it..Ill be doin some hi heat paint on the ex i replace to make it last longer to..

X pipe or h pipe is for when you run a true dual exhaust all the way back helps balance pressure on both banks. Sounds like you just need to change the y pipe and the Muffler of your choice that's the basic setup many run. These trucks have manifolds stock not headers, headers you have to install. I highly recommend them. My setup is American racing headers ceramic coated high flow cats with custom y pipe included to QTP e-cutout to magnaflow 16869 cat back exhaust. Really nice system for loud or just a nice growl...loud open headers with flip of a switch and back to mean rumble not annoying and no drone when shut.

Have you posted any videos of your exhaust and noise change with the cutout?

I used the magnaflow muffler that has the built in x pipe
Did you replace the original "Y" with an "X" and run true duals to that muffler? That's what I was looking to do, if that is what you did how did that work out for you? What muffler did you actually go with? I was looking to use magnaflow TrueX (12468) muffler and magnaflow TrueX "X" pipe (10791). Running 2.50" true dual system. I just am undecided on if I should use a dual/dual muffler or use two separate ones.
