Last install of the day! I put in my airlift 1000 system. It wasn't exactly fun to install but it's in! It was harder to install due to my 1.5" rear spacers for the lift. That compresses the coils and takes up some room inside them. When I put the first bag in it inflated and filled the entire coil. I had to then compress it so I could get the stem protector and line on. That was very difficult. Having the tires off was essential. I learned from my mistake and the second one was easier. Then it was just running the lines. I mounted the stems on the receiver plate but far enough to the sides that I could fill them with air with the hitch and locking pin still in place. With 35 PSI in the bags, the truck has a .5"-.75" increased rake in the back.

Tomorrow if all goes well (bags not leaking) I'll hook up to my RV and show before and after pics. The trailer has a 900 LB pin weight so well see how it looks with the bags!

Since you have coil spacers, how did you run the air line out of the top of the air bag? I read somewhere that you can't use the Airlift 1000s with the coil spacers and I also read somewhere to just put the bag in upside down. Forgive me, but it's been a few months since I was under my truck and forget how it's laid out. Thanks
My coil spacers had a hole in the top of them

Thanks for the quick reply. Looks like I need to crawl back under mine to check it out.

I ran the wire through the firewall. The negative onto the battery and the positive to the F66 fuse. That fuse is to the sunroof. It's a 10 amp and only is on when the truck is on. I bought 2 4" strips of LED lights from Walmart for $20. Had it in my last truck and worked well for a year until I sold it! I spliced the wire from the LED lights to the main wires. I ran the wires around the center console and tucked them away underneath. Then I spliced the passenger side footwell LED wire to the main wire and fired it up!
So the only power going to the footwell lights comes straight off of the sunroof fuse?

Well today I traded my 2014 Longhorn in. Bitter sweet, I loved that truck, but decided it was time for something different. Picked up my 2016 Ram 1500 Limited Ecodiesel!

And the new one! Mine is on the right, my dad bought the Pearl White to the left! I'll post up a new build thread for this truck soon! It'll be a much more simple build than my last one though.

Great job on the detail and info shared in this thread, very informative. Very excited to see what route you go on the new ride suspension or body.

Thank you!

No lift on the new one lol. As much as I love the look, I'd rather get good fuel mileage and be able to go into underground parking from now on. I might buy the adjustable links to level it, but I'm undecided as of yet lol.

Read the whole thread!

Man read this entire thread from to back... Amazingly informative.. I'm really just starting out on my build.. and New to this forum. Awesome to see that there are guys like you out there who are so involved! Hopefully I'm responding to Xrsman like it is my intention of doing?!

I've got a levelled 16' Hemi Blue Streak Pearl CC.
Bilstein 5100's Maxed,
3" PA Body lift in the mail..
1.5" rear spacer in the mail

Looking forward to getting the truck lifted! Will be following your new build from here on out!

Cheers!

Your truck is going to look great! What size tires are you going to run?

Well, I'm actually a little more into the build then I let on.. If you want to call what I've done to the truck a build.?!

My current setup is levelled on bilsteins set to max running ..
Falken Wildpeak MT's 35/12.5/17 Mounted on
Black Rhino Side Winders 17/9 with a 0 Offset
#stuffedlife

I've done exhaust, debadging, plasi dipping, LED lows and fogs, Shorty antenna, Low Pro QT tonneau cover, cabin filter mod... full interior & exterior LED swap ... And likely some other random stuff I'm forgetting haha

I love this gasser build you had going, but I'm sure you'er loving your new Eco!

Thought about getting in to one myself but going to have a couple years of fun with the Hemi first haha

I'm thinking about copying your light bar placement.. I find up on the roof they take away from the trucks clean lines!
