Didn't you build a frankenswitch by moving the buttons over from another one? Maybe you don't have the LEDs populated on the board.

I think I did read that he had moved switches from another switch panel. I had forgotten about that.

Frankenswitch.. Thats Funny. Yes he did remove buttons and put them on his old switch. That was my guess yesterday as why he wasn't getting lights also.

Took a chance on a passenger seat & it was a match when it arrived. Took the plunge tonight & ran the 2 harnesses Mike (Deer Guy) made for me. So pulled both seats & center console. Ran the wires to the PDC. I cut a small hole in the rubber grommet around the parking brake. Plenty of space there & still seals up nice. Got all the pins in place with a very patient Mike. Between Text's & phone calls. I took plenty of his time today. Seriously appreciate all his help & highly recommend his harness's. Well made & he is happy to help when you do the install. Stand up vendor & good guy.

Okay the good news is my heated seats work. So does the Ventilated portion of the seats. Also my heated steering wheel even works :happy107: . My hard buttons work but don't light up at all. Still have my RA2 radio. I'm on the waiting list for the harness from the other Mike for the hvac. Will my VP4 8.4 sit in the dash with the old bezel?

No problem at all. Glad you got it working!!

On the switches it seems like someone else had the same issue. Everything worked with them but they wouldn't light up. I'm thinking it needs turned on the computer side. Even though I know I have power going to them as they work. Maybe the radio will illuminate them as well as the LED power light. My bottom bank of switches also isn't illuminated like the top row is. I'll update when I get the radio in for sure.

The member with the same issue had a 2012. The 13 and up are obviously different. The instrument illumination worked on my switches before I added any codes. It actually worked before I even added the seats. Also my LED'S all illuminated when I pushed the buttons after the seats were installed before I added the codes which obviously we can't use as a definite because these trucks all seem to be a little different. I do belive you have a problem with your switch though.

If I put in the correct bezel with my 8.4. My current harness won't plug into it. Can I use the soft keys in the radio to adjust my heat temporarily? Or do I have to have that all plugged in for it to work?

That's what the conversion with the module and the harness is for. Without it you can't use the radio keys or the 8.4 bezel. The only thing that will work now is your existing 3 knob control.

All the switches should be backlit regardless of how the truck is configured. The switch panel you have didn't have any switches on the bottom before, right? I'm betting it doesn't have the LEDs for the backlight either.

Okay no problem. So I need to find another bank. The other one I had didn't light up at all. Including my trailer brake which didn't work with that one either. That is why I moved the switches to try. Not to worried about the illumination so really no big deal at this point. I'll keep my eye's open for another bank of switches

What options does your other switch have? Is there a p/n on the back? It looks like 13 is a different switch than the 14+ and they're not compatible. I have a 14+ one and need a 13 so I'd be willing to trade with you if yours is the right one.

OK now I see what you had going on. I was unaware of the reason you changed your switches. 00/RT hit the nail on the head. You most likely got a switch bank from a 13 and they are not compatible with the 14. He has the 13 and ran into the same problem when he tried to install a switch bank out of a 14. If you install the correct part number swith bank I think you will be fine. You will basically end up with the same thing I had when I first installed my seats all my buttons worked perfectly backlights and the LEDs litup. I only added the codes so the seat controls would come up on the radio.

Well I fixed my bezel problem. It is a little redneck but will work for the time being. I had a dual zone bezel that was extra. So I cut off the top portion for the radio. Then cut off the bottom portion with the 3 knobs from my old bezel:superhack:. With the screws on the backside it holds everything in place. Just put a strip of black tape across to cover the small gap between the 2. May be a little wasteful on the bezels but oh well. I have the single zone replacement already when I get the wiring harness.

For those switches I'll start looking for a replacement. No big rush

The other one had no part #'s on the back. So I couldn't tell you for sure. Happy to send it your way for you to check. If it works then you can send back yours to me. If not you can toss the dang thing

Hi everyone.
Recently I've ordered a complete interior off 2016 Laramie and getting ready to do the conversion.
My idea was to swap the entire harness with PDC, but the harness came with 3 cut ends, two of them supposed to feed a rear seat heating:(
I don't want to go into details, but the short story is:
- i'd also like to get my rears heated, since my center console has buttons for it at the back. Is here any one who had this done?
- The dash also came 99% complete and has a push start button in it. How hard it will be to make it work?
The donor car was fully loaded, what else can I do in terms of conversion?

Well today none of it is working. Not sure if it is doing the turn on for 20 seconds before going off. Since none of the lights work. Seemed like everything sort of reset. Had to go in & get my XM radio switched. XM was working & then shut off. Also my Aux input isn't working. Not sure if getting them all turned on for soft keys will make them live again or what?

It's hard to say exactly what is going on. I would check all your connections first. Especially the CAN connection and power. My truck is a 14 like yours and it worked pretty much like yours did right out of the box exempt my buttons lit up braise I jsppened to have the correct seitch bank.. I did add the codes after a few minutes to see if I could get the soft keys on the radio so I am not positive on what it would have done after a day or two without loading the codes.

That's really strange. So your saying your radio completely reset also? What did you do to get your XM reset? I doubt that adding codes will fix it as everyone's heated seats at least worked. Maybe check your fuses?

Can you post a few pictures of the wiring that you do have?

My heated seats didn't work until after I put the 8.4 bezel and HVAC module in. I wasn't sure if it was that, the fact I had the battery disconnected, or a coincidence. I believe that 69mach1 recently had the same issue and his was fixed when he did the bezel conversion as well.

I can't explain why it is, but I think there's some dependency there.
