I honesty don't remember you talking about the brackets lol. All I know is that the spider lights were the cheapest I could find, and I'm sort of glad that I bought them now because they seem to be easier to retrofit than the quad headlights, in the aspect of "manual labor" I.E. Dremmeling out the reflector bowl, making sure the projectors are level in the housing.

Initially doing the adjustment on them will be a pain because you have to remove the lights to adjust as we all know, but I will make sure to mark where my lights are aimed on my garage door now to be able to get them close when aiming the retro'ed lights. There is actually a guide that the retrofit source posted on YouTube of how projectors should be adjusted, and it "seems" easy enough to do.
I have a great spyder retrofit guide I found , it's from a G6 forum but principles are all the same.
Pretty detailed and informative.

So, I LOVE DDM's products, but their shipping is just downright STUPID!

I ordered the spyder headlights last week wednesday, they CALLED me the same day I ordered to verify fitment, and they will be here on tuesday.

The mounting brackets I ordered from the Retrofit Source on thursday last week, will be in tomorrow.

The H1 bulbs I ordered from DDM on thursday, still have no estimated arrival date, and still have not left China according to the USPS tracking.

I have submitted a ticket on ddm's support site, and posted kind of an angry review on their facebook page, both complaining about how their shipping from china is ridiculous, and no dice. I just cant believe that they have FOUR California retail stores, and they wont ship product from them for online orders. They specifically told me that all of their online orders ship from china, and thats just the way they do it.

My question to them was, what happens if a bulb goes out, or something goes wrong, then I have to wait another two weeks, risk a ticket, or not have headlights?

Great product, but non-existent customer service. Im actually going to order a set of Kensun H1 bulbs off of amazon, and if I like them, then I will keep the DDM bulbs handy in case I have to replace a bulb down the road.

I MIGHT be able to start all of my retrofit fun tuesday once i get my brackets in, then thursday when i get the headlights, i can crack them open..

That sucks man.

A ddm dealer was literally down the street from me when I lived in Cali.

Customer service was really good....mind you this was back in like 2011.

I ordered my H1 morimoto bulbs from jj on a Friday and had them either that next mon/tues. A lil more pricey but I'll probably go back to him for bulbs in the future.

I ordered a pair of kensun bulbs off amazon. Shipping in on Wednesday... I'm planning to do this all wednesday(maybe) and at least I'll have a set to throw in and check alignment with and such before I seal up the projectors lol. Even though I shouldn't need to align them after I retro them, I want to cover my bases.. If the kensun bulbs look nice, I may leave them in and see how they do lol.

Either way, I'll have an extra set of h1 bulbs if I ever need them down the road...

kensun bulbs are always the wrong color, i have ordered a set of 5000k that were yellow, then they sent me a free set guaranteed to be white and they have yellow tint to them, i wont ever order kensun bulbs again.

Interesting. 4300k should be bright white, with a hint of yellow.. 5k should be like a pure white, maybe a HAIR of yellow..

It'll be interesting to try out another manufacturer either way. I'm sure my DDM bulbs will ship in.... Eventually....

I recieved the Morimoto Retro Quik brackets today. I'm going to trim up the bowls on my Nilight projectors, and get them ready to drop into the spider housings.

I'll probably start a thread tonight with everything.. Basically a "budget build" retrofit haha

i have changed all my hid bulbs to opt7 5000k, they are all pure white with absolutely no yellow tint at all. lows-highs-fogs-hellas all the same color.

Every manufacturer is different though!

Couple of questions:
What color HIDS do most of you have? I am torn between 5K & 6K.
Also, I tried out some 6K HIDS in my foglight with a 55W ballast the fog light cover was extremely hot. Any problems with running HIDS with such a high ballast? The LED I was running in the other fog light was very cool to touch, but I am trying to match the low beam and fog with the same color.
Thanks.

The highest Lumen output is at 4300K, anything beyond that, in my opinion, is just wasting usable light. That said, the lumen output at 5-6k is still WELL above halogen lighting, and will make a big difference.

Personally, im running 4500K right now. I have a set of 4300K and 4500K on order(different manufacturers) to see how they compare to each other(and because shipping on one set was insanely long)

I'm running 6k in heads and fogs. I prefer a hint of blue.

Ive had 55w in my fogs for months now...no problems.

JJ is the man for headlights and such. Above is the link to his store.
I'm running 6k hid's in my lows and my fogs. As stated previously as well, each manufacturing company is different. My lows are morimoto and my fogs are opt-7. With that said there is a difference in color output. The lows are a very clear white while my fogs have a blue tint. And, welcome to the forum SportyJames...
