@hotroddino ,
I have a standard plate you can swap the parts into if you are interested with those items blanked out (from when I swapped out for the homelink setup). Send me a PM with your info if interested.

I only have 2 wires coming out of the green plug. A yellow and a black. Which one do I tap for power.

I'm looking for help with this overhead console. I have a 2012 Regular cab ST. It has no overhead console now and i'm adding one with the map lights, the homelink, and the cup holder LED. I have all the plugs and pins for the console end but not sure about the truck end.

The green plug behind the headlight switch has two wires going to the dome light (pins 11 and 13) and two jumpers. One from pin 1 to pin 8, one from pin 9 to pin 16. If I unplug the plug I get errors for no bus so one of these must be lin bus. So mine doesn't match with the pinout from post #126 (page 13)

Can someone help me with the pins to get the console to work.
Thanks!

Thanks JMR. The green plug pin diagram really helps. I am a visual person and that pic sealed the deal. I'll work on the install this weekend.

I've been pining after this upgrade for a while since I got my '12 Ram1500 Express. Figured I'd show off the process. Hardest part imo is the electrical as no one really has anything except electrical diagrams and some people (like myself) are more visual learners so we don't tap into the wrong thing. So the physical side of things is all buttoned up, just need to wire it up (waiting on the LED bulb upgrades anyhow, so I didn't finish the complete install anyhow).

Starting.

First (of many) holes cut. Everyone warns you to start small and cut as you go after plate is installed above headliner. 100% good advice.

Visors reinstalled with overhead console plate behind headliner.

My wires seem different than others too??
2012 Express
Pin 1&8 Wht/Org
Pin 9&16 Wht/Gray
Pin 11 Blk/Pink
Pin 13 Yel/Wht
Pin 12 is there but no wire going to it? Looks like Pin 13 is the courtesy
None of the others seem to make sence? I can get an easy ground off the dash bracket.

Then which way do the wires connect at the console its self??

You will need a schematic for your year of truck. 09-12 are different than the 13-18.

Does anyone know where I can get the connectors that plug into the overhead console for the homelink and lights? I have a AC Delco PN# for the module connector but nothing for the lights. I'll even buy a used complete console with cut wires if it's grey, has a 6815822AB module and connectors.

Great write up.

For some reason I cannot open the pictures you attached. Either on my PC or my phone.

I may have the terminals and body for the Homelink and Compass. Not sure what is needed for the lights.

Would love to revive this thread. I picked up the OHC with Homelink, rear window switch and the mountain bracket. But goodness I am confused with the wiring side of it. I went to get that pigtail harness off eBay but was told it doesn't not work on my 2016. I can physically do any of the work itself, But I am lost int he sauce with all these pins and connectors and diagrams. The cutting of the headliner does not worry me, figuring out the wiring does. Ive read through all 36 pages on this thread and have seen so many different part numbers and broken links that I dont know what's what at this point. Anybody care to help with a play by play? I PM's the cuylertech guys well but dont know if he's still around as that was mentioned a couple years ago on this thread..

Members MPGrimm2 and Deereguy "might" be able to help you. They fabricate and sell custom harnesses for a variety of uses on our trucks. They may have a ready made solution for this already.

The home-link module has four poles on it.

HOMELINK PINOUT
PIN CICUIT WIRE COLOR FUNCTION
1 A990 RED FUSED (+)
2 Z911 BLK GROUND
3 D402 BK OR/VY LINBUS CBC 2
4 NOT USED

If you hook up only pins 1 and 2 the home-link will work, but you will not get any message in the evic when training or using it, also it will not light up with the dash lights.

My truck was the same as yours on the top part of the green Yazaki connector I had only

YAZAKI CONNECTOR PINOUT TOP SIDE
PIN CICUIT WIRE COLOR FUNCTION
1 EMPTY
2 EMPTY
3 EMPTY
4 EMPTY
5 EMPTY
6 EMPTY
7 EMPTY
8 EMPTY
9 EMPTY
10 EMPTY
11 M11 YL/VT DOME LIGHT AND DOOR POWER(+)
12 EMPTY
13 EMPTY
14 EMPTY
15 EMPTY
16 Z910 BLK GROUND

However on the bottom of that connector I had the following:

YAZAKI CONNECTOR PINOUT BOTTOM SIDE
PIN CICUIT WIRE COLOR FUNCTION
1 A990 RED FUSED (+)
2 D402 BK OR/VY LINBUS CBC 2
3 EMPTY
4 EMPTY
5 EMPTY
6 EMPTY
7 EMPTY
8 Z911 BLK GROUND
9 EMPTY
10 M27 YL/LB CONSTANT POWER FOR MAP LIGHTS (+)
11 M11 YL/VT DOOR SW POWER FOR LIGHTS (+)
12 EMPTY
13 EMPTY
14 EMPTY
15 EMPTY
16 Z910 BLK GROUND

If you have these circuits in the bottom of the plug, you need to pin the top of the plug to match for pin locations 1, 2, 8 and 10. You then need to splice into the 2 wires you currently have to go to the overhead /map lights

CONSOLE MAP LIGHTS CONNECTION PINOUT
PIN CICUIT WIRE COLOR FUNCTION
1 Z910 BLK GROUND
2 M11 YL/VT DOOR SW POWER FOR LIGHTS (+)
3 M27 YL/LB CONSTANT POWER FOR MAP LIGHTS (+)

I built my own harness as you know you cant buy them, unless you buy a whole new headliner. I used the correct pins which are very hard to get, most folks just tap into or splice into the wires.

Your truck may or may not be wired the same, mine now displays the homelink functions in the evic and the map and overhead lights work as they are supposed to.

Hope this helps

This is amazing information! Except its gibberish to wiring ding **** like myself. I would love to build this harness myself to learn and just do it on my own. Do you have pictures of your set up you built? I am such a visual learner it would help to correlate photos to all the pin-out descriptions. I have no idea how to make these pins so I am basically starting from ground zero.. Cheers and happy turkey day!

Awesome, thank you! I will see if I can try and message them. New to this particular forum but I imagine it functions like the rest of them. Ive only ever been on cumminsforum but not much info on there regarding this..
