I've located a salvage yard that is willing to sell me the RAM media hub and the plastic tray piece that holds the hub in the center armrest/console from a 18 Ram. Will this screw right in to my 17 ram console/armrest without any modifications?

I got the whole lid, including the tray and hub you referred to, and it all plugged right in with no problem in my 17 Ram. You’ll just remove your current tray with many screws and add your “new one”. It should fall right into place.

See my note about using an 18 lid in 13-17 trucks. You need to depin one wire from the lid connector (Illumination) to prevent it from draining your battery...

What application version is it on?

(Press Temp Up + Temp Down + Frt Defrost for 6-10secs to get into dealer menu and check radio info section)

Can you connect to the radio with AlfaOBD. Select 2017 navigator module, and see what faults are stored. Clear those, drive it around the block, and see what faults come back. You can also do a speaker test on each speaker while connected to the radio.

2018-20 compass uaq.i had a 19 compass radio in my 18 with no problems.a factory uaq truck though.i would say a issue with it not being a 18 up truck.i wish i could remember the compass radio i had parts number but i am pretty sure thats it.

long read....but very informative. I have the chance to buy a UAQ unit 68331631AJ with media hub from a guy that bought it from infotainment and had it installed in his '18 Ram 3500 Limited. I have a 2015 Ram 1500 Laramie with all the same options as his truck had. A/C, heated, cooled seats, Nav. everything. I guess my question is, will this be a plug and play install for me? I messaged infotainment about it and they said it may have to be sent in to have my VIN flashed to it, however with us having all the same options, would I have to do that?

The radio will be plug n play in the 15 Laramie with dual zone ATC (you need ATC)... It will read your truck's BCM config/features and configure (program) itself. The only catch is to make sure you are getting one of the 2 media hub PNs in the OP and that you will need a UAx USB Hub Adapter harness for your 15 ram that he didn't need for his 18 ram. (We can sell you the adapter).

Awesome! thank you for the explanation. I do have the ATC in mine so this should be pretty straight forward.....the USB hub that he is sending me has 1 usb slot with the aux under it....its square in shape....I currently have the hub with the USB, SD card, and AUX

Why did you decide to go back to the RA4? I have a 14 and bought a UAQ and honestly didn't care for it. I know they are the hot ticket but I pulled it and put my RA4 back in. The only advantage that I could see was the CarPlay/ Android Auto capability which I realized I didn't really use much anyway. plus my truck being a 14 I had all the little glitches with the radio even with the customtronix module that were annoying. I have an android phone so my RA4 voice texts fine plus I like the way the RA4 looks and works better and it sounds way better in my opinion.
