I used the stuff in the pic, a razor blade, and a heat gun on 500*F. I got the radio for $380, so I am a little hesitant to drop a couple hundred on a screen. Another guy back in this thread used the same stuff and apparently had no issues. I guess I wonder if it could be something more internal and not the screen/and or connections?

You're way ahead of the game if you bought it for $380. A new screen will run you $100 to $170 dollars ordered from China. Probably easy to sell the screen too if it doesn't work. You'll want to do it soon if you are still in the return window.

I just got a USB C media hub from a 2019+ and it seems to work with the UAQ radios. I only did some quick testing but Android Auto works. I will need to test Car Play at some point as well.

The hub needs whole bezel made for it since the bezel is part of the console on the gen5s. I had to shave the USB plug on the truck side a little for it to lock completely. The conversion harness from M2 Mods seems to work as well but more testing is needed.

Hard to see the picture of what I'm talking about but I've seen a couple guys with UAQS able to see their auxillary switches on the radio but I've never been able to. My truck is a 17' with the added UAQ for an 18' Ram and I already have the auxillary switches through commercial settings on my 7" EVIC. Any setting I might be missing or any ideas?3b96b5ec3b264eec31d7f11796b17c6b.jpg

I am trying to see if there has been a software update for my 2018 Ram UAQ radio that I have installed in my 2017 Ram 2500. The only issue I have with the radio is the common problem where the text message notifications & the voice recognition volume are very loud and when you try to lower the volume it reverts back to the same volume. My radio was bought brand new so I'm nervous to brick it but was wondering how I can even update it since my truck didn't come factory with it but the radio was brand new when I installed it. I'll add a picture of what version it's running, I've never updated it as I don't know how to or where I could get an update without being able to use my Vin since it's not factory. f76ed79df5dcd99c19489b5eb6b291fd.jpg13ae5fee092ca61803cb12681dd77b6b.jpg

@Mpgrimm2 's firmware thread has version 22.6 for your radio. In two UASs I flashed, the upgrade to 22.6 fixed the notifications volume.

I picked up the aforementioned 4C UAS UConnect, the bezel and an HVAC module (68366552AA) from a scrap yard today, I was wondering if I could purchase the harness.

Here is an update for everyone. After installing the 22.6 software update on my UAQ tonight I am still experiencing the excessive volume when the Voice Recognition or Phone button on the steering wheel are pressed and when I receive a "new text message from" alert. I have tried several times to lower the volume when pressing either of those buttons or when a text massage comes through via Bluetooth but, the volume is still reverting back to the slightly obnoxious level 14. I will however say that the alert for a text massage sounds less clear now. It just sounds gritty is the best way I can explain it. I'm hoping that after the truck has had a chance to sleep for several hours the issues are resolved. I have not had a chance yet to see if the speakers still sound distorted at times as it's only occasional but didn't happen until I installed the UAQ. I purchased the UAQ brand new last year and previously had a RA4. My truck came factory with the RA2 and my previous software that came loaded on the radio was 22.5
A huge thanks goes to @Mpgrimm2 for all of his support and walking me through any questions or concerns I had. I highly recommend his products and I'm very thankful for his help anytime I have a question.

@Mpgrimm2 is the one you want to talk to about the harness.

I was actually able to convince the salvage yard to return my money because the screen was in such bad shape when I got it.

Nope, unfortunately they wanted it back. I was hoping they would just tell me to keep it and I could test out a new screen on it.

The place had it posted back for sale for more than what I paid for it immediately without any mention of it being inoperable. I highly doubt it magically fixed itself in transit back.

An informed buyer could reason with them.

Don't know if its been posted before or not but, after installing an 8.4 inch UAQ in my 18 ram 2500 (original was a 5 inch) the "music off" is displayed on the evic when the Sirrius XM radio is on. All other modes seem to display the correctly. Has anybody else seen this?
