PNUTLT1.....As Ghost_Ram mentions there are numerous settings that need to be set when adding the rear backup camera. Below are the settings I had set to activate the B/U camera:

1) -Rear Camera =Present

2) -Rear View Camera Dynamic Grid Lines =Enabled

3) -Rear View Camera

4)-Rear Camera Customer Settings Menu

5)-Rear View Camera Delay Customer Settings Menu

Now as to the last setting I just recently did: "Trailer Hitch Camera Present", this puts an icon on your CONTROL screen. BUT from your post I see you have a 2014? If so then you will not get an icon for the B/U camera on your screen. Only 2016-17-18's will get an icon. You can try the setting but from what I have found Ram's earlier than '16 do not have the icon show up.
Guys I have a 2018 quad cab. Upgraded my radio to the 8.4 Uconnect with car play. I activated all of the options mentioned, can’t get the camera app to display in the menu. Please note that my truck came with backup camera. That works only on reverse. Not sure where to go from here.

What was your original radio?...Did the rear camera display on the original radio or in the rear view mirror?..

What is the part number of your radio? Did you install it yourself and is it navigation radio?
Hi, the radio work very great with seats and steering wheel, the problems is the push button module located at the bottom of the consol. I suspect this is a programmation, but i didn't find the good information.
The radio model is:
Model: Uconnect 8.4 RA4 / VP4 CA
Part number/model: 68238626AG

I see tons of stuff about using Alfa to change settings, but are there any write ups or videos on using AlfaOBD to diagnose issues? I have a drivers door lock issue I am trying to track down and I am hoping Alfa can help we find the problem. Thanks.

Also: I see that with version 2.2 of AlfaOBD we can now read the 4 digit PIN, but I cant find that option in my app. I verified I have version 2.2, but I have a 2011 Ram. Is my truck too old?
Update on the Read PIN, spoke to Alexey and he confirmed Read PIN is not available for 2011 yet.

Would still love to know if there is a place to go for tutorials that show how to use Alfa for diagnosing issues. Thanks.

Number 3 attempt for answer. Question on tire size change, I’ll post here since no one really goes into main tire size change thread.
When I go to clear codes in engine drop down and then go to select control unit, I have a 2018 1500, do I go down to dosing control unit MY2013-17 or what’s the chrysler powertech/pentastar/world/hemi v6/v8?
My first thought is the 2013-17 one but no clue what the other is.
Also when I go to the ABS menu then select control unit drop down, is it the ABS Bosch/Continental/Teves/TRW Powernet MY2013-18 Powernet?
I see the original write up to walk through the tire size change but seems some of the wording in alfaobd has changed since then.
Just want to make sure all is right in the areas I’m looking at.
Thanks

Anybody still on this thread?
I did my tire size change got it to around 1 mph slower then regular gps speed.
But for some reason my cruise control wasn’t working. Clicked button nothing came on.
I went to clear faults but nothing showed up on alpha went to clear it anyways nothing happened.
Went to do clearing rolls and said failed.
But truck started fine just no cruise for some reason.
guess we’ll see if anyone still uses this thread. Seems like it’s died down a lot.

Apparently smacking the steering wheel gets cruise control to come on. Still freezes every now and then but smacking it gets it to work.

That sounds like an issue with the switch cluster on the wheel. Hopefully it's not the clockspring.

my RAM had a recall for bad steering wheel cruise control switches and the recall changed parameters in the ECU - something about cruise "locking on"
FCA refused to change my cruise buttons / steering wheel and stated the programming "fix" is all that is required - I swapped my steering wheel and my cruise works normally and shuts off when I want it to now

Ok I have searched the forums, everywhere and I can't find my answer. I recently traded bumpers to one's with out the parking sensors... I've tried going thru and disabling but I am missing something and not sure what. I still get the park sensor error

I had a different situation that I needed the activation code, but it might work the same. I emailed Alexey explaining the issue along with my purchase receipt. He sent me the installation file (because it wasn't on Amazon where I had initially purchased Alfa). Once I installed it, he sent me the activation code.

Sorry if this has been asked before re: DRLs. If I install aftermarket headlights like Alpharex, etc, that have Switchback turn signals/drls, if I activate DRLs and set as turn signals in Alfaodb, would i then not need to install the additional drl wiring provided? Would the switchbacks light up white for drl and amber for turn?

thanks!

edit: specifically, I have a 2013 that had quads. Now I’m installing these

I’m thinking either 1) I plug it up, enable turn signals as DRLs and the switchbacks just work?

or 2) i install the dedicated DRL wiring and set dedicated as the location?

If you can enable DRL for the MY13 and the lamp assy indeed has has a switchback in the park/signal socket, then they burn white as the DRL and are white when headlamps are on and amber for signal and hazards. I ran this config, but didn't care for the white parking lamp with the headlamps on so I went back to an amber LED which burns amber for DRL, turn signal, hazards, and park. One other note, assuming the MY13 has the option in AlphaOBD, is set your bulb position to LED, otherwise you may need resistors to eliminate the hyper flashing. Also recommend a good (subjective) LED, like Diode Dynamics or GTR, pricey, but I have yet to have an issue with them. Some of the cheaper PRC LEDs fail in a short period of time.

For those headlights, the switchbacks will behave correctly regardless. If you enable the turn signals as DRLs, you will have amber DRLs. If you use the supplied DRL harness, you will have white DRLs. If you add the dedicated DRL circuits, plug them into the DRL wires on the headlights, and enable the DRL location as dedicated, they will be white.

Thanks guys for the clarification! I enabled DRLs on my headlights as turn and I’m going to install the new ones ASAP and see what happens.

I completely misunderstood your question. You went from quads to projectors with LED strip. My response is not applicable then since I was referring to quads. I thought about a projector conversion, but didn't want to splice the factory harness. However, I've seen harnesses that are a PnP that do not splice the factory harness (HR has a clean one), but I can't say for sure enabling DRL with AlphaOBD will work like OE-installed projectors. I will never buy another aftermarket headlamp assy because the beam adjustment mechanism failed and many are not even made to OE factory specs. They might look like an OE assy, but are nowhere near it (DOT compliant, beam refraction and cutoff, optical clarity, etc).

I have a 2020 1500 Classic ( Tradesman ), shouldn't the display on the radio show the temp outside as well as station? My DJ did that but for some reason its not on there. I Actually don't recall if it was there or not when I bought it. As I never really paid attention to it before. But have noticed it lately. Is it just a setting or something? , has the 8.4 inch screen without NAV. The outside temp will show in the cluster in the middle but for some reason not on the radio display.
I also just noticed that I cant turn my radio off at all. I push down the volume control button for a few second and nothing. When I release it, it just mutes the sound. Can the AlphaOBD help with that? Or is it what it is?, The radio is 4C and again no nav.

Sorry if this is a dumb question and in the wrong spot. Still new to the truck world and to this forum.

Sorry if this is a dumb question and in the wrong spot. Still new to the truck world and to this forum. 8.4, and probably the 5tht GENs 12 inchers don't have a on/off function. Volume serves as mute too. On/off controlled by ignition switch.
I know how it works on GEN 4s. I assume it's the same for GEN 5s. Depended on the radio and instrument cluster. If Tradesman trim it had EVIC and Uconnect 5.0, temp was displayed in EVIC. Higher-level trims with DID cluster and an 8.4, temp shows on radio and can be added to DID display using steering wheel control since what is displayed is customizable. No on/off on the 8.4 (or the 5.0). On/off is controlled by ignition switch or PTS button.

Hi from Down Under. I have changed some settings and some stuff appears to be working. Since my vehicle is converted to right hand drive, I wonder what would happen if I changed this setting in the BCM?
