Replaced the front differential oil this weekend. New to me truck so moving through the obvious items like this. Glad I did cause came out like chocolate milk!! Oh yes water included! Wiped it out best I could, reused oem gasket, and new 75w-90 synthetic gear oil. Guess I'll be back here after a few miles to drain it out again.

Researched this issue and found some have moved the front diff breather hose end away from the wheel well area as the plastic cap at end of hose is a straight shot into the vent tube and factory location isn't the best as water can come from front left wheel well into that plastic end. Relocated it inside engine compartment away from wheel well for now untill I can get some 3/8" hose and some double 3/8" brass barbs to extend original hose to above brake booster area somewhere. As will most likely extend the other 4 vents up higher as well for same risk.

I'll post link here in a bit for what I found in case others find same thing.

Did a re-do on my color-matched grille project. Turned out great. Also, my first negative experience with RockAuto. Ordered tons of stuff from over the years no issues…I ordered a brake pads for the wife’s GMC, PowerStop and upon unboxing just now found the rear set was opened. Inspected and the pads are scuffed and the backing plates have witness marks, although very faint. Returning…Grrrr.

How sweet is that? No washers required.
