It's me again!
Attempt number 2 - up in smoke.
With the advent of the HOT finance deals on Ram trucks right now, I figured I was good to go for sure. David Stanley was not but a few hours away, and had several trucks on the lot that fit what I was after, so I called them at 10 AM yesterday morning.
The first red flag was that they didn't even want to discuss a new truck without talking about my trade in first, even though I told them I was unsure if I was even trading in. So fine, I sent pictures, the VIN, the mileage, all that hoopla, then they email back a sight unseen form......rate my truck. This has not happened at any other dealer, and I told them so, but whatever. Got it filled out and sent back.
Didn't hear back till 4 pm today, after multiple attempts to contact the dealer and get some headway. They came back with an offer of $1,000 for my trade in, which is a 2009 Ford F-150 Supercrew. I laughed at the guy on the phone so hard that it turned into a violent coughing fit. Then, I might have told the guy on the phone a few customary unpleasantries (use your imagination) and hung up.
On a whim, I called the local LKQ pick a part, and got a HIGHER offer for my truck than David Stanley offered.
My point is, if you would like to be insulted, and have your time wasted, David Stanley CDJR is your dealership.
@RamCares - You need to get these dealers to get their **** together. Pretty sure after this little escapade, I'll just go buy a newer used F-150.
