Couple of questions.

My truck has the same mirror as my wife’s. Her truck has smartbeam. Is is as easy as enabling smartbeam in AlfaOBD? Both trucks appear to have the camera input on rear of mirror.

I saw a setting to turn enable/disable seat belt warning. Will that turn off the EVIC warning and the red seat belt light if the belts aren’t buckled? Not asking whether it’s a good idea to turn it off- just if it will.
Thanks
If your mirror doesn't have this camera looking lens under the mirror cover it is not a Smart Beam mirror. All the auto dim mirrors have the small square lens on the back of the mirror to detect ambient light for the mirror dimmer.053c595db6a33cb844277e66b61c3b90.jpg

There is a way to turn the seat belt chime off so you don't have to listen to that, but the red light will stay on and the evic will show up some.

I seen the ones listed. I don’t need it as I already have it installed. Still solid advise though but the harness doesn’t matter unless you need it. Like for my truck ‘16 with Uconnect and mics on mirror it is PNP.

I looked at these mirrors and in the decsriptions it says that they have the rear camera display. Both my cargo and tailgate cam show up on my 8.4 screen so will these still work?

I can’t be sure so I definitely don’t want to steer you in the wrong direction. I’m sure someone will chime in.

Yes, you can disable the chime, but the EVIC still shows the Driver Seatbelt Unbuckled error and red warning light.

Search under the DIY thread, it's pretty simple.

New oldguy here. Thanks to all who contributed to this thread. Over the past two days I read this entire thread and learned a lot.

I have one question that I didn't see answered unless I somehow missed it.

If the global windows down is used with the key fob, will the remote start still work?

Thanks,

Joe

Yes it will, either way will work just fine. You can roll down with the fob then remote start or remote start then use the fob to roll down.

Just a quick question since I don’t have a device that can run alfa at the moment. Should I use a pc or android? Just seeing if android has limitations vs pc version

Leaning towards buying a cheap android tablet to just keep in the truck

If you don't have a pc laptop laying around then an android tablet will be your cheapest route!!! I had a laptop so I just use it and it saved me from buying a tablet for the few things I am doing with the app.

So I tried a couple of new settings:

1) CHMSL Line Customer Settings Menu - This added an option (under Settings>Safety and Assistance) >Cargo Camera Guidelines. If I check the box it unchecks itself after 2-3 seconds. So I would imagine there is another setting that goes along with this. I looked through my log and I found that "Rear View Camera Static Grid Lines Enabled" is not set, so I think I need that one, but maybe other settings need to be enabled too? Anybody try this before?

2) Surround Sound - after enabling this setting the menu option "Surround Sound" showed up under the Audio settings. But when I clicked on it the next screen had "on" and "off" toggles, but where grayed out, and there was the notation under the toggles "Not All Models Have This Option Capability". Which is probably true for me since I have a regular cab. I do have the Alpine System and checked the Cabin Equalization Setting which is "Standard Cab Premium (Alpine 8-ch) (DS) - the factory setting my Ram came with. So enabling Surround Sound will get you the setting if you have the Alpine System and looks like it will work as long as you do not have an RC like me.

I'm think that is a standard option in the QC/CC bodies only and not stereo specific.

You and I both have the alpine stereo so that can't be it?

However my 2015 CC had this feature from the day I purchased the truck. I didn't have to enable it with alfaobd

I'm sure someone will have the exact answer.

If I remember correctly he has a regular cab so kind of a 1 off truck to have the Alpine radio. While he has the Alpine Radio not so sure he has the entire Alpine system that a CC or Mega cab would have. He for sure does not have all the speakers it sounds like, maybe not the additional amps and sub?

Ok

My mirror has the square sensor on the back. So I just enable auto headlight dimming and it should work?

As for the seatbelt warnings. I have already disabled the chime, just hoping I could do away with the message and especially the red light on dash
Thanks

That little square on the back is for the mirror dimming, not headlight. Need more of a camera lense and the square sensor.
Just disabling the seat belt feature in Alfa would be a easy reset if it did not work as you want I would think

As I stated all the auto dim mirrors have the small square lens to detect ambient light on the back of the actual mirror for your auto dim mirror function to work properly. It is not for the auto high beam feature. The auto high beam is the other large camera type lens mounted to the actual mirror base that is concealed by the black mirror cover. If you look at the outside of your wife's car through the windshield you will see the square hole in the mirror cover to expose the lens is so it can detect oncoming headlights. If your truck didn't come with the auto high beam feature and your mirror has never been changed you do not have an auto high beam mirror. It is only installed on trucks with the actual auto high beam feature.

Not sure if the share link worked. Using Tapatalk but I also linked Ricks previous post to the known working code sheet. If you mirror doesn’t look like the image he shared it’s not the correct one.

No. I bought my remote start kit off of eBay and I was for my truck. I didn’t know you needed a pin # to program the keys. So know I have no truck.

The only thing you can do for now to be able to start the truck is put the stock RFH hub back in the truck and use the stock keys until you get the pin# The instructions that came with the kit should have explained that the keys needed to be programmed.
