Lets get back on topic here.

I think it is a combination of high molly and ester PAO that is the winning ticket for the hemi. Motul has quieted a hemi. I think it was Sean I don’t remember where he’s from but it’s not the US.

Motul 300v is high moly and a ester PAO blend.

Not trying to take the topic of thread off another direction, it is a Redline usage poll.
But I always appreciate all the folks on here and info and chat they bring.
I went ahead and called Canadian Tire here, and they do not have PUP in 0w-40 (they only have Mobil 1 and Catsrol in that weight) They have 5w-20 and 5w-30, at $56 for 5 litre jugs on sale for $44. I also called a local auto supplier - Trackwerks - that has Redline, 5w-20 or 0w-40 at $20.99 a quart.
So it can get harder to talk buddies that like their trucks, but may not be 'forum enthusiasts' like most of us on here, into Redline over another cheaper oil that may be good too.
Again, don't wanna take this thread of topic too far, I appreciate reading everyones experiences and input.

Cheers!

Check your local Speed Shops, they usually carry Redline.I know out here in Alberta i'm buying Redline through my local Mopac Speed Shop, and it was a couple bucks cheaper then that,"but" I haven't bought any since last fall,so there might have been a price increase that I don't know about.

What! What is an Ester PAO????????

Goup IV: PAO[edit]
Poly-alpha-olefin (poly-α-olefin, PAO) is a polymer made by polymerizing an alpha-olefin. They are designated at API Group IV and are a 100% synthetic chemical compound. It is a specific type of olefin (organic) that is used as a base stock in the production of some synthetic lubricants. An alpha-olefin (or α-olefin) is an alkene where the carbon-carbon double bond starts at the α-carbon atom, i.e. the double bond is between the #1 and #2 carbons in the molecule.

Group V base oils are defined by API as any other type of oil other than mineral oils or PAO lubricants.

Esters are the most famous synthetics in Group V, which are 100% synthetic chemical compounds consisting of a carbonyl adjacent to an ether linkage. They are derived by reacting an oxoacid with a hydroxyl compound such as an alcohol or phenol. Esters are usually derived from an inorganic acid or organic acid in which at least one -OH (hydroxyl) group is replaced by an -O-alkyl (alkoxy) group, most commonly from carboxylic acids and alcohols. That is to say, esters are formed by condensing an acid with an alcohol.

All i know is redline killed my hemi tick and pup gave me a bad tick so im sold on redline. you can feel a big difference between the 2 oils on your fingers and when i check my oil redline doesnt run off the dipstick like other oils so obviously its stickin to the valvetrain very well to kill that tick. so to the disbelievers dont knock redline until you try it. I was skeptical about redline at first until i read a lot of burlas posts and redline killed my tick immediately

Not going to lie, I feel like my truck is happier on the redline right away after starting it up! Only idle sound I heard when I picked it up is the growl of a cat back flowmaster with 5” carvens.
I cruised home with a big smile last evening.
They also did axle fluid replacement and brake adjustments. The 48,000km level 4 servicing adds up!

Hi guys. I don't know for Sean but I'm using Motul 300V 5W30 with a WIX filter and my Hemi is very happy and quiet. So far so good, he as 72k and run great.

Awesome, we need more guys trying this as well, very similar formula and construction to redline and RP filters. Did you have hemi tick before trying this?

No I never had the tick. Only a random clattering after oil change or after the truck sat for a couple of days. It's not the startup clattering just a random clattering at hot idle. Sometimes I heard it sometimes not...sometimes is more loud on the driver side sometimes on the passenger side.... very strange

I’m currently running the K&N Gold filter with Platinum Synthetic Penzoil 5w20.
haven’t had any issues with that, however since reading a lot about Redline/Royal P, is like to try these out. I reside in northern Ontario Canada where we have -40c temps at times. Is there filters under these brands or what type of filter do many suggest? Not sure if K&N is at the top with these 2 brands or not.
