What do you call a completely dead 2020 with 18k?

I have a 2020 Laramie with less than 18k miles. Came home from2 week vacation to a completely dead truck. Figured itwas the battery. Replaced the battery and now we have absolutely nothing. Hit the start button, nothing.

Cannot lock, unlock, release brake, nothing. When this saga started, it never ever turned over at all.

When i first hit the start button, there was some clicking. That was all.

Now, no clicks, no lights.

Thoughts?

First place to start is the battery. I know you replaced the battery but occasionally brand new batteries are bad from the get go. Can you check the voltage with a multimeter? After that check wiring harnesses for damage from gnawing critters that may have made a vacation home for themselves while you were away. Have you tried jumpstarting the truck?

Repair shop is at a loss. Without any electrical action, no diagnostics.

How can a vehicle be 100% dead. No response.??

How can i get help from Ram. Dealer here is terrible.

It’s a loss for the repair shop you had it towed to. Any competent repair shop should be able to diagnose a general no start condition without the need for a scan tool and a vehicle with power. I don’t know where you had it towed but a place like Firestone, NTB or Midas is not good for diagnostics. Not every mechanic needs a scan tool to solve a problem. You may need to have it towed to some place more qualified.

There is zero electrical activity even with new freshly charged battery.

Cannot lock the truck, cannot release the parking break, nothing.

Do even the headlights work? If not, U got a break in the electrical system somewhere between battery and starter, sounds like a ground off.

Check the IBS sensor on the negative post. Get a voltmeter and see if the voltage is even going through the sensor. Red to red, black to behind the IBS on the bolt, NOT the battery post. This will at least tell you if voltage is even going through the IBS, where ground loop works. IF U have "no" voltage going through IBS, than U have a Bad IBS. If U have voltage going through (continuity), then something else in the charge/wiring system. ALSO, never blind charge/jump a RAM system with IBS. Negative always goes to a good ground or even to the bolt behind the IBS, not the negative battery post.

E torque truck?

BUT if U got E-Torque, could be an issue within the MGU unit, circuitry, friggin 48 Volt battery, somewhere within those systems. That gonna probably take a Dealer Visit to diagnose, they got the electronics for that. Research thread and it will tell U how to release trans to neutral, the e brake U can search and it shows how, BUT it is a process.

Parking brake on 2020 is not mechanical?
Maybe you meant can’t take out of parking gear to move ?
Fuse box activity not present?
I 2nd the Ground to battery may not be connected ?

YES, parking brake electrical. U can research, jack up truck, and take apart part of actuator to release brakes, but U best know what U be doing. Heck, if has to be towed, have tow truck operator jack up and put dollys under rear wheels, disengage trans, then pull up on flatbed and take to dealer if it goes that far and OP not able to get it done anywhere else. Tow truck guy could tow from rear also with rear up after disengage trans.

Not sure if cross posting is allowed but this goes to assisting the OP. Read in entirety this thread as it definitely could be your issue, I've seen this a few times and one of them matched your issue to a T.

Electrical Issue
I found the link through partial search
The fix was ..
Okay, of all things the tow truck driver stellantis sent fixed the truck. Issue was a nut on the number two fuse box input fell off. I didn't notice, but the drive saw the witness mark from a nut that was no longer there. Pushed the area down with a pen, it arced, and truck came to life.”

Not sure which is referred to but I believe it is the fuse box under the hood next to the battery .

I checked my fuse box on MY 19 just now. I have "nuts" on all of the posts except #5, as I do not have auxilary items installed.
