I'm a little lost here. Tried to take advantage of the warm weather yesterday and get my aftermarket head unit installed. I was under the impression that all the quad cabs in 03 had the Infinity system yet once I got everything torn apart and all 10,000 screws out I found no amp behind/above the glove box. Am I mistaken that they all have the system or did I miss something obvious? Only thing I saw behind the glove box was all the HVAC stuff and the air bag. I've got a CD player, the 3 dash speakers, two door subs, and the two rear door speakers.

The infinity system was an option that you had to select to get. Even the kicker upgrade was an option.

The Infinity trucks had little door plaques and an amp behind the glove box. Stock headunit or no?

So is this Crutchfield page just completely wrong then?

2002-05 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab Car Audio Profile

Crutchfield has been known to be wrong on occasion and this time is one of them. Like I said in my other post the infinity system was a factory option. Most dealerships though ordered the trucks with it installed so they would sell faster. That is where the misinformation came from.

Stock coming out, not going in.

Well **** me running. I wish I'd known that before I pulled the dash all apart lol
I didn't want it in the first place, but it explains why the stock audio is so weak. Oh well, I guess I'll have to just add wires to the bypass harness I bought so I can use the doors speakers as front speakers.

Yeah the stock offerings are a bit on the weak side. A good alternative is to get a god aftermarket headunit and the correct interface harness.

Luckily I've got a full system in my Jeep that will fit this truck just fine. That's what I was swapping in anyway, just need to add wires to this harness so I can use the existing speaker wire. Wish I'd known before because it would have saved me from having to open the dash all up and saved me $20 on the bypass harness.
