2005 5.7 Hemi fuel pump went out. Picked up an airtex unit from autozone. replacement went fine.

Fuel gauge is acting funny now. You can fill up the truck and it wont register on the gauge until you drive 15-20 minutes or until you turn the truck off and on.
It then goes straight to full most of the time but sometimes it will only go to 3/4 full for a while.

I thought initially the float was hanging or I had a faulty pump so I pulled it again and swapped it for another new unit. This time double checking all the wires etc for interference. All connections seem fine also.

Same problem.

sounds like the ground or corroded plug use dielectric grease and clean ground strap mounting points

If one of your grounds is corroded, chances are all the other ground points are as well... Might be a good thing to just go ahead and check them all.

I have the same problem now too, but before the oe pump went out the gauge worked perfectly, then I had it replaced two years ago and the gauge read empty and the low fuel light would stay on and the check engine light would stay on until I used the first quarter tank them it would read true the rest of the tank. It would do this every tank of gas till that pump went out now after replacing it again it does what the op states.
