My buddy is Doing a (Hockey Puck) Body Lift on His 1998 Dodge ram (MUD TRUCK) and he was wondering if he would need a Steering Extension for a 1" or 2" Lift I Know he would most likely need one for a 3" Lift so he wants to go as High as he can go WITHOUT the Steering Extension

I Doudt he will be able to go a Full 3" without the Extension but idk Thanks In Advance

3" you have to extend a lot of things. I would say just like a 1. 2 might be pushing it

I didn't do brake lines. I did steering, cut fan shroud and insert extension brackets, remount spare tire winch, (given supplies to remount emergent brake - didn't do) fuel filler neck. It's a lot of just I mounting stuff in order to allow the body to move up.

e brake cable needs moved and adjusted, transfer case shifter needs adjustment, auto tranny selector needs adjustments, steering shaft extension, longer bolts, bumper relocating brackets. Thats what i remember needing to do on my 96 Chevy truck when i slapped a BL on there. Also do one side at a time, makes it so you don't need to realign body lines, and cab/bed gap. (passenger side, than driver side) shouldn't need to do anything with the brake lines, they should be fine. on manual tranny you need to get an extension for the shifter, but should work without it. just more of a reach. could be missing a couple things, its worth it to get the actual kit for $300 or so. PM me and i can let you know one of the best places to go for price wise that i was able to find. COuld also be worth it to check out Dave's (ramhunter09) prices. its stupid and dangerous to do a made at home body lift. but thats a personal opinion, lol

You might be able to get them at lowes or something. I know on the 3rd gens, if you do a 1" you can use the cab bolts on the bed because theyre longer. New ones should be less than $20 together
