okay........ since I am new.... I think I can get away with this question. Why would I need a catch can? What does it do?

Checkout post #14 in this thread. In short, your PCV system is designed to basically pump oil into your intake manifold for better emissions. That oil will build up on the throttle body and the walls of your intake manifold over time. On top of this, that oil will mix with your fuel in the intake manifold which will lower the overall octane rating of your fuel. This can cause a loss of power and gas mileage, especially if you have or plan to run a tuner in the future. It is a must have mod for these hemi trucks.

The pipes wanted to go the way I put them on and since it's not a show truck, I could care less. I put them on the way that seemed more natural for the hose.

Same here Chris...the hoses just naturally fit better when crossed:

I did trim the shorter hose a bit just to make it a straighter shot, and I used the spacer with no issues. I've got the mechanic's knowledge of a 2 year old Labrador, but even I can tell that the oil this thing has collected in the 1,000 miles since I installed it wouldn't be doing anything positive for the longevity of my engine lol.

I too cut them to fit. I am mechanically inclined though. ;)

So what all would you need for a ram truck to install the catch can? Does it all come in the box? I've got a 2013 5.7 ram.

My first mod and best mod imo. Every time I empty it I'm reminded of what would have gone in my engine.

I don't know anything about this stuff so pardon the possibly dumb question but could you just cut the hose and pipe the oil to the ground like it used to be?

Yea ya could I suppose...But I think it'd be better if it was captured in the catch can and disposed of properly. :)

I just received my billet catch can for my 2013 ram hemi. I'm not very smart mechanically. Anyone got any advice or pics how to install this thing? Thanks
