Hey guys got a question for yall. So I have a 14 ram sport 4x4 with 8 speed.
Yesterday I turned traction control off and at a green light I gave her spinning tires and I hear squealing sound coming from somewhere i let off gas and the tire stop spinning and wine or squeal stopped. So I did it again burn out and same loud wine squeal sound.
Kind-of like a belt squeal but coming from the back I think

Is that the anti slip?

I don't usually hammer the gas I drive it a little too nice haha but once in once in while I like to get on it. Don't remember hearing that sound before.

I have a summer car for that. I treat ram too nice but I've done it a few times in it and honestly don't remember hearing noise. But then I usually have my music going and yesterday I never did.

If you did have the anti spin rear end, you would see signs of 2 rubber strips, as opposed to a single strip

Pop the rear filler plug out and inspect your diff fluid/level. I don't think is normal to have a squealing rear diff. You may also try to have somebody taking a video while you do the deed and see if the issue come out clearer that way if any.

I had the diff fluid changed 4000km ago, and added the anti slip Mopar stuff. Truck has 90,000,km

I'll try to get a video tomorrow

I can tell you that when your rear differential is low on fluids
It will make a noise, but it is not a squeal.

It sounds more like the noise that you would hear if you stood at the end of a 4" metal pipe that is 10 foot long, while someone else is at the other end of that pipe, while using a 1" metal pipe & running it around the inside of the 4" pipe

The noise raises in volume as the rear end loses more fluid

Here's a short video. Now if it's wet out and tires spinning more the noise will be alot longer but u can hear it do it around the 4 second mark of video.

Sounds like the serpentine belt is squealing when the engine RPMs drop quickly. It takes the belt longer to slow down than the pulleys on the engine.

It's belt squeal, mine does it all the time.it'll only happen if you're laying into it hard in first gear with the back tires spinning.

Thank u for that, when I first heard it and it was alot louder and lasted longer I told wife it sounded like our supercharged car.

I just don't lay it down hard in the truck so never noticed it make that noise.

Yes before pandemic every summer we would travel down there. Actually would stay in airdrie hotels are cheaper out there haha.

Depending how things go this summer may be planning a trip down there. I'll keep you in mind and shoot you a message.

Try belt dressing spray, see if that fixes. If no more sound, replace belt.

mine does not do that but my wife had a 01 grand cherokee 4.7 that did it from the factory and it was the belt- i changed the belt 3 or 4 times and still did it after the belt had over 10k miles, i could never get it to stop. My titan belt squeaked at start up, because i live in a high humidity area, i changed it several times and it still did it UNTIL i had long tube headers put on i guess the heat of the headers kept the engine bay warm

If the squeal continues after you use belt dressing or bar soap on it

Check the pulleys for Alignment
