I have a 2020 Ram 2500 6.7 Cummins with over 100k miles. Had the steering box replaced, along with the pump, and the mechanic who worked on the truck dumped power steering fluid all over the truck, well the first mistake was they used power steering fluid. After they dumped it, the belt developed a squeal, took it back in, had them replace the contaminated belt, clean the pulley's, still squeals. Came in three more times, they replaced the belt with a MOPAR belt, didn't squeal until the next morning when I started up the truck. I flushed the power steering system myself and put in ATF +4, used a small amount of purple power cleaner on the pulleys, and washed it off. Still get a squeal, I maybe pinpointed the sound to either the alternator and/or the tensioner pulley, but I wanted to come on here first and see what else I could do if theres other pointers to try and get this thing to stop sounding like a 1960's POS.
I squirted water on the belt, and the noise disappeared for a few seconds, then came back, would that be a belt alignment issue?
