Wow, I'm surprised. Can you elaborate on that for us?
I figure I'd like to keep my truck another 6 or so years, maybe 8, so I toy with the idea from time to time, but again with the weights I'm towing it pulls very well so I've just stuck with what I have.
Crazy that the 4.10s are a $50 option on the window sticker. Its redicolius that was not the standard gear with 4.44s optional
Truck came with 4:10’s and it did ok. I now have 4:88’s and is only slightly better. It cost $2300 to do the gears.
I could probably sell my truck for 33-34k. Add $2300 to that and you are at 35-36k.
You can get a new 8speed 6.4 for very close to that plus tax.
My buddy just bought a 2019 tradesman diesel used with hardly any miles for 41k.
Or you could buy a diesel that’s a bit older for 30-35 easily.
im trying to talk my wife’s cousin into selling me her 09 duramax with only 70k miles.
my truck does the job just fine. But my trailer is definitely making it work hard. Getting just over 200 miles per tank can screw you if you don’t plan your fuel stops.
