Yes, they gave me a warranty card, as well as my invoice shows it like yours for the YES warranty.

What was the total for both axles? I toy around with this from time to time (going to 4.56s)

This is my third truck I had gears done on and it was worth it every time to find the sweet spot towing.

That's great man. I'm certainly tempted, but the 3.73s work good for me for the weight I'm towing now, no complaints of power at all, even in the mountians.

But I know that 4.56s would make the truck a whole lot more fun even to just daily drive empty so I think about it from time to time. Thanks.

Anytime. I agree the 3.73 was not bad at all. My only complaint was that in order to even be close to the sweet spot in 3rd you had to be going about 75 mph towing which is too fast for me. That caused a lot of 2nd gear driving especially with a headwind. With the 4.10 I am close at 65 in 3rd, but still not redlining in 2nd. If I was 12,000 or over, I would have gone 4 56.

Here is some honesty. If I did it all over again. I would sell my truck and put the $2300 towards an 8 speed 4:10 6.4. Or a used diesel pre def.

Wow, I'm surprised. Can you elaborate on that for us?

I figure I'd like to keep my truck another 6 or so years, maybe 8, so I toy with the idea from time to time, but again with the weights I'm towing it pulls very well so I've just stuck with what I have.

Crazy that the 4.10s are a $50 option on the window sticker. Its redicolius that was not the standard gear with 4.44s optional

Truck came with 4:10’s and it did ok. I now have 4:88’s and is only slightly better. It cost $2300 to do the gears.
I could probably sell my truck for 33-34k. Add $2300 to that and you are at 35-36k.
You can get a new 8speed 6.4 for very close to that plus tax.
My buddy just bought a 2019 tradesman diesel used with hardly any miles for 41k.
Or you could buy a diesel that’s a bit older for 30-35 easily.

im trying to talk my wife’s cousin into selling me her 09 duramax with only 70k miles.

my truck does the job just fine. But my trailer is definitely making it work hard. Getting just over 200 miles per tank can screw you if you don’t plan your fuel stops.

Raptor 90 250lbs
Raptor 50 200lbs
XR 50 150lbs
Misc camping equipment food supplies clothes 500lbs ( probably more )
Fire wood 100lbs
Me wife and kids 500lbs
Fuel station 150lbs.
Truck is 7200lbs
22k gross on a gasser is allot.

the Polaris rzr was not planned when the truck was bought and the Toyhauler we planned to buy was 9k empty.

Very true. Luckily my truck is only for hunting and camping trips so I don’t need anything fancy.

The newer diesels do have a ton of torque as long as you look at 2003 or newer. Otherwise both Ford a Dodge were 4 speeds with really no more torque than the 6.4 hemi.
With the 2009 Duramax (good engine performance btw), according to my research people are getting 10mpgs towing around 10,000 lbs (you are above that) and their gas tanks were 26 gallons. At 7500 to 10,000lbs towing I average 8mpg so the Chevy will only give a 15 mile increase.

Although with just under 15,000 lbs loaded down, the newer diesels will handle that load way easier for you and I would be flirting with trading out too brother.

I can put a gravity fed tank in the diesel

I bought my truck when I owned a 7500lb loaded trailer. With dreams of a Toyhauler loaded to around 12000lbs

well the wife got a big raise and so did I.

so now our needs have shifted. Just don’t want to take it in the shorts on a truck with 10,000 miles that I rarely will drive lol.

Well we would hate to see you go from the 6.4 conversations, but right now used trucks are at an all time high price wise. You could probably get close to what you paid right now. I know my truck blue books out about $2,000 under what I paid.

Unfortunately I believe new truck pricing is also. For sure I know RV prices are up at least 5k over last year for the exact same unit, and for the ones I'm looking at, it's about a 25% price increase. No thank you!

As crowded as the campgrounds are these days it makes me wonder if I should just give it up again for awhile. My boys like going so I probably won't, but still, it's not the peace and quiet it used to be. Too many millennials and gen Z who lack proper upbringing and respect, or just don't care. Pretty consistent with how things are these days across the board.
