I cannot put my finger on it, but my '17 rides and handles much different from my '14. I had a 4x4 Express quad cab. The stock tires rode ok, but when I put my Toyo Open country LT rated tires on it, it rode like a "truck" after that. With much larger tires, and a 10 ply sidewall, it came as no surprise.

I bought my '17 a few weeks ago, 4x4 crew cab Big Horn, and had the dealership transfer my tires to it. So literally the same exact tires as I had before. Long story short, the thing rides much smoother than my '14 ever did...to a large extent.

I tried searching for any listed changes between the years, but couldn't find anything. Anyone have an info on this?

How many miles were on the '14. Wearing of parts does cause a noticeably difference over time. Nothing crazy, but if you get in a brand new truck with brand new suspension parts you will feel a difference. I don't believe there were any design changes to the suspension on the 1500 through '13 - '18. Could have been some tweaks to parts though.

My mileage was rather low for a '14, just a hair over 31K miles. My "off road" driving wasn't much more than driving through the occasional corn field. It was rough when I bought the tires Sept of 2014 (truck was bought new Feb of 2014).

It's just strange how differently the two ride...especially given that the tires are literally the same set.

Maybe it’s just quad cab versus the crew cab

Could also be the difference in miles. Not that the '14 wasn't the same at zero, but the 14 had more miles and the very next day you had a brand new truck with brand new suspension bits. Even on the same tires, literally, you are noticing the difference because it really is there.

Or you may have been ingesting something prior to the drive in the '17? :banana-mario:
