Hi Everyone,
I am having an interesting problem with the A/C in my 1999 Ram. The A/C will be blowing ice cold and then suddenly will begin blowing hot. From the shop manual it appears the blend door may be the culprit. I have checked the freon and it's in the green and thinking about it, the problem seems to occur when slowing down or turning. I assume the blend door is moving freely inside the evaporator housing directing air thru the heater core.
Assuming the blend door servo is the problem, can the servo be replaced with the evaporator housing in the truck? The shop manual says no, but what does it know? While on the topic, I also assume I could bypass the heater core and solve the problem thru the summer. Any recommendations on how best to accomplish the bypass? Your comments are appreciated.
