How accurate is the average MPG gauge?

I was kinda surprised to get this high with my 22s.
Was only going 70-71 mph.

It got up too 20.7 before I exited for lunch.

I know on my 07' when mathed out it read like 1.6 MPG higher than actual. Your pretty lucky to get that high, the last time I saw that mileage was... hmmmm, well, never!

i have the 3.92's, do about 70% city and 30% highway and i'm averaging about 17.9mpg. If I were closer to 50/50 like i used to drive, i'd be near 19-20mpg. I usually set the cruise control at 70-72mph when i'm on the highway too. I went with the 3.92's bc i knew my around town driving was gonna impact my fuel consumption, so i rather have the gears get me up to speed instead of the motor ( which would use more gas to accomplish the same start and stop driving ) if i had 3.21's

Drop it down to between 61-63 mph and you should get close to 22 on the readout.

Not bad for a 2009 with an inefficient transmission. 71-73 mph seems to be the sweet spot for these engines and aerodynamics to hit in the 20's.

As long as the weather is good, no significant headwind and a light touch on the pedal the Hemi can get you some great mpg's on the highway.

8-spd and 3.92s here, and I do about 50/50 driving. I average around 19.5 or so.

On the highway alone, I can get 25 pretty easily. Impressive for such a big vehicle....

Impressive indeed, maybe I'll look into some 3:92's, I'm not sure what my factory LSD is, but it works good. The only down side to me re-gearing is I have to buy 2 set's of gears.

My EVIC is off by . 5-1.5 mpg compared to my handcalculate mpg with each full tank fill up. I have seen that Mobil gas has yielded more consistant numbers compared to other gas brands.

My 2013 CC 4X4 3.21 8 speed with stock 20“ wheels gets about 11-12 mpg in the winter and 13-14 mpg in the summer
(with 89 Hemifever tune). That is with mostly city driving with an average speed of 19-24 mph. My truck tends to have lower mpg than most because of the amount of stop and go driving I do.

Enjoy those numbers[emoji106]

My evic is off 2 mpg pretty consistently. I still get hand calculated 16.5-17.5 mpg regularly. Fuelly shows low as there are some towing miles in there that bring it way down.

My evic is up and down. Sometimes it's right, other times it's off by 2 L/100 kms. Usuall it's pretty close to right though. The more city driving I do the more it's off. If I only drive highway it's usually pretty accurate.

Yup, good ole 5 speed. LOL. Guess with the CAI, and new spark plugs might have helped. I was expecting 17-18 at most.

I do about 95% city driving and the EVIC always says 14-14.5mpg so this was a nice change. lol

I was wondering if just changing the spark plugs helped too.

Been tracking the mileage for a while on mine and mine seemed to be off by about 1/2~3/4 of a mpg.

Until I had new tires put on.... Stock tire size, but my MPG on the screen dropped by 2 mpg. The hand calculated figure shows a 0.8 mpg drop...

I have a brand new 15 quad cab. 4x4 3.21 gears and got 19 average on 300 mile trip driving 78 mph. To me that's good compared to my old 2008 but I would like to see the advertised 22 mpg highway... I only have 1800 miles so maybe after the first oil change it will get better..?

It should improve some but 4x4 is rated at 21mpg fyi. And that is probably at 65mph. They'll run you over in TX at that speed.

Yea I do a lot of highway driving and like to do 75-80... My old truck I'd do a lot faster but my new one I'm not going to go too fast. I can make decent time at 80mph

This past spring I spent some time in Texas cruising south on the 83 and then I went back north to Okc on the interstate (tornado chasing) and I was fine cruising at 60mph. How you ask, easy I stayed in the very right hand lane and not an issue:favorites13:
