I have a 2011 ram 5.7 I am working on only has 120k somehow they ran it out of oil and locked er up. I have a 2019 5.7 engine sitting in my garage from a wrecked classic my question is has anyone swapped a 2013+ engine into a older 4th gen? I am getting conflicting reports I know the tone ring changed for 2013+ something about the thickness but same amount of teeth. I have seen some people have had no issue where others said they swapped rings.. I know all the sensors and timing cover have to be changed only worried about the tone/reluctor ring on crankshaft.
Any input much appreciated.

Here ya go

Yes i saw that thats what made me question because if you really dig in and read some of his coments i found he said he could not confirm if it was for sure 100% a 2019 engine he put in there even tho it looks like one i guess. Mixed in some other people say it worked some say it didnt sooo.. guess this might just be a trial and error thing lol.

So I got both motors torn down to compare 100% you can Not use a 2013+ motor in your older 4 gen engine Unless you change the tone ring which is annoying because the crank has to be lifted up to doso. It turns out the ring its self is not thicker however the space between the teeth is just a few hairs bigger. I think they do this just to annoy the **** outa mechanics Lmaooo. From what I understand the main cap bolts are torque to yield and can not be re used correct? I am having a hard time finding new rod and main cap bolts.
