It shouldn't if anything it should cost less since it cost more money to synthesize it to begin with and its only needed to boost the octane above 87.

Considering every adult taxpayer (that means you and me) in America pays 2500 dollars a year in fossil fuel subsidies the petroleum part is already heavily "discounted"
