Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum. So please take it easy on me. :)
I have a 2012 1500 4x4 limited
Been having the truck for 2 years now and absolutely love it. My first Ram..
Not one problem with it... Until 2 days ago.
Check engine light came on and stays on.
Doesn't run bad or anything. The only thing happens is when I remote start it, it starts and runs for a few seconds and then turns off.
The info message says "remote start has been disabled and must be started to reset."
Haven't brought it in yet, I'm stuck working 7-12s right now.
Any suggestions??
Thanks

Until you get the codes scanned, it could be anything.

Also, it is by design that when attempting to remote starting with an active check engine light on, to turn off the engine start. They do not want you running the vehicle unattended until the fault condition is address for the check engine light.

Find someone with a ODBII scanner or go to auto parts store like AutoZone that will scan your vehicle for free and get the codes to see where you stand. Could be something as simple as a loose fuel cap giving a small EVAP leak or something more serious.

Thank you very much... I'll get it to the dealer Tuesday.
