I'm in the midst of a brake job, and trying to re-install the caliper but have come across something that doesn't seem right. The top slide pin does NOT slide or rotate. There is NO movement. I've never seen this before and don't know what my next step should be.

I've tried to use a wrench to turn, hit it with a hammer to try and dislodge it, and the caliper will not mat up to it. The whole purpose of these is to be loose and this one is certainly not.

Dead in the water. Send help.

Spit and pressure!!!

Put the bracket in a vice, beat it, turn it,lube it, repeat. Could try a bit of heat as well. At this point it’s already messed up, you’re not gonna make it worse, so don’t make love to it, f*ck it. If all else fails you may have to end up replacing the bracket.

Like tach_tech said...get it in a vice and go to work on it. Put some heat on it, too. I had the same thing on a 2010 CTD. Took me an hour and a half working it.

FYI, I just smashed it with a hammer until it moved in the 1/16 I needed it to. **** it. It stops.
