I have a 2013 SLT 1500 that we purchased used about 2 years ago it currently has 67k in miles. The power steering has ceased working. I get a service power steering warning on the dash when it first happened I turned the truck on and off a couple of times and it worked to get me to town then on my return I had to repeat the process.

Yesterday that did not work and no power steering. I did find a loose negative cable on the battery removed and tightened but still no joy, I tried removing the positive cable to see if maybe the loose negative cable caused an issue and to clear out anything in the system still no joy. I read there are two fuses for the EPS but I did not get the owner's manual for my Dodge when it was purchased and the online diagrams I find do not mention the EPS fuses would anyone happen to know which two fuses I need to check?

To replace the Rack is a little over 2k so looking for anything I can check before paying a tow bill to find out it was a fuse or $20 fix.

There should be a 100 or 125 amp fuse bolted practically right to the positive battery terminal for the power steering, It's a Z-Case fuse(see pic)
The other fuse I think is F78

Uses fusible links (but confirm, do not take my word on it).

But I am no mechanic. I had the Zcase's on my ED, the 5.7 are a lil different. There are no Z-Case attached to positive cable at battery. One goes direct to Master Fuse case and another branches off somewhere down towards electric power steering unit, Cannot see where,.

NOTE: I have a MY 19 5.7 Hemi, No friggin E-torque truck. I had a 2015 ED with the Z=-cases on the battery terminal.

I do have a Battery Temp Sensor attached to my "negative" cable.

I heard somewhere, that when yer EPS goes out, U now have what used to be called: "Manual Steering" ??? lol :joke:

Used to drive an old school bus converted to a Church Bus, and dat Puppy did not have Power Steering. My 67 Chevy Impala SS did not either. No need to go to the GYM in those years.....

It was not either Fuse so most likely the rack will need to be replaced unless it is an issue with the U joint on the steering linkage. Thank you for your assistance and thoughts. I am able to turn the wheel even at a stop but as we have a farm and the wife won't haul hay in her Kia I will have to get it fixed so it is safe for all to drive. My then 5-year-old Grandson saw the truck and said to my wife who he calls G Paw Paw has to have this truck. His thought is one-day Paw Paw will give it to me.
