Hi
Hi, I hope this the right place to ask this questions it is regarding a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 purchased dec 2014

The long and short of it is since purchase at 1300km, 5000km and now 18000km

I have experienced my truck losing all power and dying while driving on the highway. They have given me no good explanation as to why. Just keep replacing things and saying they hope it works. They say no other ram is experiencing this. I feel unsafe just wondering if any ideas or insight into what I should do.

Thanks

Could you post pictures of you warranty work at your dealership showing what they've replaced?

I'd like to see what the dealership thought process on this is.

Obviously you are a first to my knowledge.

Could be a ton of things from computer issues to fuel issues. fuel pump not putting the right pressure out, bad fuel pump relay, computer has a bad board, faulty program bad wire connection... I'd just stick on it with the dealership log it all and if it continues look into the lemon laws and file the proper steps or paperwork required to get it exchanged.

Have a buddy who bought a chevy duramax, and did this. took him about 3 months to get a new truck.

First they replaced the ignition switch...then the RF hub, they have admittied they are just guessing because they can not reproduce the failure.. And it never presents codes... Chrysler engineering has has no idea why either. It's clear the problem is intermittent, but very dangerous. It's at the delarahip now. They are trying to get me to trade it in, take a loss, but wouldn't promise they would just turn around and sell it to someone law. Canada doesn't have a lemon law..

Does the engine quit and the dash and accessories are still working, or does everything truly shut down?

The dash gauges all die as well, but the radio is still working.

Well, that sorta rules out fuel pump or pump relay, which is where I was heading. I know you said there is no Lemon Law in Canada. There is no other recourse in such instances? I feel for you. I'd be exerting as much pressure on Ram as possible, and be sure to keep meticulous records of all contact, and all repair attempts.

My money is on a loose connector. Likely the connector right underneath the driver side dash or the larger connector behind the driver side wheel well.

I will ask if they have checked that, they say they have checked all the wiring... They are now pushing for me to trade it in and take a loss.. Because they know I am fearful of the safety of the truck

By any chance does it seem to usually happen after filling up with gas?

Interesting that you ask that as the first two times the tanks was full, and my sister mentioned that their older ram would do this after fill ups, and I saw a lot online about this problem. Brought it to be attention of the dealer and they said there was no problem like this among other Rams

The most recent time however, I was at half a tank of gas.

Just curious what your thoughts were

Ah ok. Reason I asked is because I've run into that situation a few times. What can happen is if you continue to fill the tank after the first click you can run the risk of putting raw fuel into the evaporative emission system. The raw fuel will then be purged into the engine(instead of vapours) which can cause the engine to randomly stall.
