I might be pulling the trigger on a brand new Ram but before I do is there anything to look out for? Would be a Big Horn, loaded. Any and all advice is appreciated!

As with any new vehicle purchase check alignment of bumpers, fenders, doors, bed box, interior items etc. Also check the paint for imperfections. Most will recommend the 8 speed transmission over the 6 and also the Hemi, unless you like diesels, then the EcoDiesel. if economy is your main then check out the pentastar 6.

As far as known issues you should be pretty clear. The 8.4 radio when introduced last year had some really annoying issues put has since been updated and is now reliable.

Have fun with your new purchase.

Thanks. I'm just hoping the 2014's aren't problematic like some of the 2013's. This may not even happen. If they(Dealers) don't meet my demands (ha ha) I'll just hold on to the '02 and keep throwing money at it.
I want a specific optioned truck and within a certain price that an aggressive sales guy should be able to make it happen but if not, well whatever.

Watch out for the plastic paint matched front bumper (facia). They crack easy. I would get a model with a steel bumper if buying again.

I'd be going Big Horn again. Chrome chrome chrome!!!
Seems like more stuff is standard on the 2014 as opposed to what I got standard on my 2011. The ones I'm looking at have the fancy radio, sprayed bedliner, back up cam and some other stuff that was extra back in 2011. Basically the same price I paid for my 2011. My 2011 was 100% trouble free while I had it. The only thing wrong was the rear recall and I never had anything happen. I most likely would still have this truck had it not been lost in the flood.

I have a 2014 Sport 1500 quad cab, love it so far. Hemi, 8 speed, 3:92 rear, my only complaint so far, the headlights are horrible. Im looking into solutions now. The light output is down right unsafe in my opinion. Only complaint I have so far....

2014 Sport CC here. When it dips to -27c (-16f) or so and lower my EVIC screen blacks out from start up until the cab warms up a little. It's annoying, and I haven't read anyone else having the problem (please anyone chime in if I'm wrong about that) and well... Frankly when its that cold I don't blame some things for not working quite the way they should.

I've got the same issue, but its not really related to just the cold for me...

had it to the dealer once, they said an update flash would fix it. it didn't.

I've found that if you change the setting from auto to day in the controls on the radio, it will stop it. BUT it should work properly.

ill be taking it in again in a couple of weeks to get looked at again when i get the first oil change.

I've had my 14 Sport for almost two months now and no issues whatsoever. It's even been in -40C weather and no issues with the EVIC?

Had weather in the -30s and no issues. -37 over night and started without being plugged in.

Only issue I've had is the gauge lights stayed on once. Hours after shutting off.

Disconnected battery and hasn't done it again.

Well crap. I was hoping it would be preferably a more common thing so that there would be a known and easy fix.

Only issue I've had is one of the puddle lights died about a month in to ownership! Radio display doesn't do very much if its cold, once the truck warms up a bit the screen will start display text properly lol. Love it otherwise.

I've been driving a 14 sport CC, and no issues until now.

I had a defective airbag sensor that was fixed the day I took delivery (because it it, a bunch of lights were flashing like a Christians tree in the EVIC, and the cruise control wasn't working). But once they changed the board, everything worked like a charm.

Best truck I've ever driven.

Drivers side seat cushion needs replacing since day 2 of ownership.
Cruise control works intermittently.
Cushion was ordered by dealer and going in next week for installation.
Cruise they claim "just needs a battery disconnect to reset". I call BS but we will see.

Just sold my 2008 Dodge V6 Ram with 130K miles and zero problems. Bought a new 2014 Ram Quad with V6/8 speed and starting to love it also.

I just checked the oil at 3200 miles and it was a quart and half low. What's that about? I understand break in oil, but that's crazy. :wtf2:

Anyone else seeing an oil burning problem with this motor since there is not leak. I never burned an ounce of oil in the 2008 over the time I owned it.\

Thanks

Not sure this is gonna happen. #1 I'm not feeling the love with the price, and #2 I'm not totally in love with these trucks, as much as I loved my 2011 I'm just not getting that warm and fuzzy feeling inside. I want chrome bumpers dammit!
