Yeah, I already spent $500 on a nav system, not going to spend another $150 to have it updated. That's something that should be free.

Car/Truck NAV's are terrible to begin with. 2014 it's almost 2018! It's another way to get your money.

Damn, the map update on m y wifes Mazda CX-5 is just a SD card you take to your computer and directly download from google then pop it back into the car. $150 after spending $500-600 for the Nav is ridiculous .

Wow, only $150 for the same info I can get from google maps for free? What a bargain!!

I might consider paying $150 for a software update to give me Apple Carplay, because the stock nav is basically useless. The roads in DFW change so frequently that this update would be out of date by next week.

Apparently I'm the lone voice in this nav desert but I find the 8.4 nav has a couple of features I like and it works fine for us in our cross country trips.

I also find that the $149 every two years or so is much less than than an unlimited cell plan and running out of towers just when I need the nav.

Do they actually send you anything, or is it a download from your computer? Or, and over the air update? I thought you had to go to the dealer to update it?

If I'm not mistaken, you get a little jump drive with the update loaded onto it.

Interesting thought. When you get the USB drive from HERE, you need to go to their website and give them the code in your radio and the code supplied with the USB package. They, then give you a code that you put into your radio to initiate the map install.

I'm not sure what would happen if a second owner tried to use the same code supplied from Here.

Only works on specific Radio/Vin.

Our Nav updates should be included in the first 7 years like the drive Train warranty or at least three years with the bumper warranties. But what the heck....the Big Three never throws us a bone any more like they used to.....
