Are all the Ram 1500, calling for a 10 ply LT tire? Place where I got my tires found it odd that the truck calls for a 10 ply tire. He thought maybe the truck has heavier springs, hence the stiffer ply tire. Whats the verdict?

1500's generally take a P rated factory, sometimes a C rated.

I have never seen a factory 1/2 ton that specs E rated (10 ply equivalent)

Tater nailed it ... Not sure if the Rebel even comes 10 ply, but it might with the Toyo ATII’s ... Every thing else ... Passenger tires

Yeah but are those 8-ply or 10-ply?

The Outdoorsman model came from the factory with Load Range E tires(Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor) from the factory.
Ram doesn't offer a "heavier spring" from the factory but if you tow heavy you can put 50-55 psi in the rears to help firm things up. Check the sidewall but the max inflation PSI is 80 but you'll never need that much. Don't really need a Load Range E for a half ton but they're nice to have if towing heavy.
I have a 28' enclosed cargo trailer (about 8K when fully loaded), I put 55psi in the rears and 50 in the fronts. I don't get any squirmy feeling from the tires but will ride a bit rough when the trailer is unhooked.

Maybe its due to the hauling capacity or the payload capacity of the Hemi but I too, never seen a 1500 Truck call for Load Range E tires.

Some one of a kind weird builds out there ... Every Express I’ve ever seen had 20’s on it ...
