Got my Spmaxx sway bar links switched from the long version to the standard version, not that there was anything wrong with them but i wanted to experiment with a little flatter sway bar angle. The new ones are supposed to be stock lenght.

Old vs new

Changed my spark plugs today at almost 80k miles. Took me 3 hours with the spark plug tool that i guess everybody is using to do the job with the Hemis (Thanks goodness that chit exist), did it from the top and had to literally lay down under the engine bay, having a tube bumper helps a lot :) Unfortunately for me i broke one of the read retainer clips holding the coil pack connector chit. Dear lord i watched the darn thing in slow motion jumping out and hidding somewhere behind all the engine junk.
This is an example of the clip i'm talking about. The one i broke was the one at the rear on the passenger side

I wrapped a zip tie around it for now

Ty to Jimmi07 for posting the link with the connector

Hoping it won't be too difficult to swap the mother facker out. I only needed one but knowing my luck i ordered a 2nd one just in case :)

What about hitting a junk yard up? I think you can pull those red retainers out without them breaking

I’ll see if I can check a couple of them out today.
IIRC I had one of those stupid clips pop out of the retainer on me, luckily I found it. But instead of cutting a connector off I'm sure you can find one and end up with spare clips as well.

Checked online with a couple of junk yards but they didn't have anything with the newer Hemi that will have the connectors with the red clips. Did more research online and found a Mopar part # which is supposed to be full connector rebuild kit, Mopar 05019952aa. Called the dealer and they said they had one so i drove up there to check it out. The connector fits in the coil pack but it doesnt have a retainer clip because it seems to use a different system to lock, plus it's $45 + tax so i didn't buy it. It would have been a different story if i had the damn red clip lol oh well.

I'll wait for the connectors i ordered yesterday from Mouser, i'm hoping they'll have the retainer clip i can borrow from them.

If not i've already secured the connector to the coil pack with with anoter zip tie., no way that sucker will move anywhere now.

I'd like to think so :) but i did it with the thought of preventing the last 1/2" of shock compression.
If you check post#298 you can see i had a 1/2" gain at full compression with the longer sway bar links, no bueno with the 37's. Tested today with more speed through the rough spots at my local testing ground and so far she seems to be good between this and the little massage i did with the hammer to the fender lips.

Deaver came back to me with a quote
"2014 Dodge Ram 1500
Rear - coil springs - +1.50" trim height & +681# additional load carrying
Pricing: $ 448.40 pair
NOTE: springs are Driver side / Passenger side - specific
Lead time is 3-4 weeks"

681lbs is what i have extra total weight at the moment, plus the 1.5" lift i want to keep.
I'll see if i can gather more details Tuesday next week as Monday they'll be closed for labor day.

How did you weigh all your add ons? Piece by piece or did you hit a scale station with the truck? I'm really looking at this decked system as an alternative to a bed box but it adds 200lbs. So I'd most likely need to contact these guys if this works out for you. Hell I might need exactly the specs you need if she keeps gaining weight.

I keep an Excel spreadsheet where I have all the mods I’ve done with prices and the ones heavy enough to matter are all documented.

I have cancelled the plans of going with Deaver custom springs for now as the dude that i've been in contact with blew me off when i started pressing for the actual coil free lenght specs. I asked before ordering i want to make sure my coils are going to be 20.5" but the response was literally "place the order first and we can discuss" I don't want a shorter coil that can hold more weight ******** it. Oh well, guess the other idea will be to research on the 3" coil springs we have and let the weight push them down to 1.5" :) Will see about this i'm not in any rush to change them, and the Daystar spacer is still working.

For now i'm doing some preventive maintenance considering the truck has 80k miles, so i've decided to upgrade the front LCA's with Mevotech TTX LCA's and replace the rear control arms both upper and lowers with the Mevotech Supreme options.

Mevotech CTXMS25149 -front left lower control arm
Mevotech CTXMS25150 -front right lower control arm

Mevotech CMS251147 Rear Lower control arms (2)
Mevotech CMS251146 Rear Upper control arms (2)

Also decided to refresh the tie-rods and i've added the SPC bolts for the front lowers as well. The truck sees a lot of abuse in the dirt so i want to refresh basic steering components with upgraded parts.

SPC 82420 camber/caster kit (2)
Mevotech MS25718 -TieRod end (2)
Mevotech TXMS25649 - TieRod outer end (2) TTX

I vaguely remember you making a post sometime about not being a Core 4x4 fan. Just curious, did you consider going with their rears arms for roughly $250-$300 more.

Not a fan of their prices :) but if i had a 2.5"-3" lift in the back 'll consider them. I don't need their adjustability for the 1-1.5" i have, plus If the stockers did good for 80k miles i have no need to spend the extra $300 to have to adjust them same lenght. Yes they're pure beef compared to the stockers but in my case simplicity works better and considering the cost of everything i ordered today was a little over $1k, i needed to save as much as i could somewhere.

Bear in mind with all the added weight of the stuff you’re carrying and the other mods (yes sprung and unsprung weight) it’s a 1500 frame.

NTTAWWT but it could just be cheaper in the end to pull the bed, drop the suspension, cut off the upper spring pockets, and re-weld them lower. Then reinforce them for good measure. You could do the same with the lower mounts, so long as you don’t hang them out in the breeze to catch on rocks etc. Done right you keep articulation and solve the issue.

Know what I mean? BTDT

Hit up Pirate4x4 for other stuff like ideas about shock angles/arrangements etc.
