Considering a new 2014 ram 1500 quad cab. The v6 should fit all my needs....are these pretty reliable engines compared to the hemi? Just trying to compare the two pros and cons. Also does anyone know if the blackout package is available on trucks other than black exterior? For example could I get a maroon ram with the black 20s and headlights etc?

As far as I know the only way to get the black wheels on a color other than the blacked out express is the outdoorsman, but the outdoorsman doesn't get the black projectors. The v6 is a solid engine it's been around for 3 and half years the hemi has been around for 11 so the hemi is time tested the pentastar has knocked it out of the park for the time it has been around.

You could always try and talk the dealer into swapping lights n rims for you.

Some have said that the quad is tight for car seats. The crew has an additional 6 inches so no problems there.

My rear facing car seat behind the passenger seat makes it so my front passenger seat can not be all the way back. Can't wait till the little man hits ~40 pounds and turn the seat around. I imagine rear facing seats would be real tight in a quad cab if they even fit.

I'm dealing with this right now. I have a quad cab and a little one on the way, I have played with car seat. Rear facing fits fine in the middle. Front facing fits fine all the way across. The rear facing will fit on the passenger side but the seat has to be all the way forward. You literally have 4-5 inches. I had my nephew once and we set it up on the passages side and my wife's knees were touching the glove box. I'm not getting rid of my truck I'm keeping it can't afford the hit but I wish I would of gone crew. Short answer they fit snug but they fit. The 02-08 that's the only option and they all made it work.

I will add if you go to buy a car seat 1 day make sure you test fit it. I have herd of some being to wide to fit between the seats, both my niece and nephews seats fit in the middle.

Ive noticed the base of the middle seat in the quad cab is a little shorter than the two other seats in the back...is this any kind of an issue? I thought I read somewhere that as long as 80 percent of the car seat is on the base of seat your okay...is this possible in middle seat in back of quad cab? Also is the middle the spot they reccommend putting the rf car seat?

My brother and sister in law are both firefighters and they helped me set up 2 different seats in my truck and they both said it was fine, I brought up the same concern. The rear seat in the crew, quad, and mega cab use the same seat there is just more room in the cab.

I think it depends on the seat also. I have a rear facing seat in the back of my quad cab on the passenger side and the wife fits up front just fine. I probably couldn't sit there though.

Awesome thanks for all the help. Another question I had was can you get the stock dual exhaust with the smaller engine or just the hemi?

Single pipe on the V6. However the dual exhaust from the Hemi is a bolt on fit from the headers back. You would need the hanging hardware as well as somebody's take off exhaust.

There was a guy that bought a larmie with the v6 and he had the dealer throw the dual exhaust in as a dealer mod.
