Hello everybody. I’m new to the forum. I have a 2014 5.7 1500 8 speed that I rebuilt the engine on 2k miles ago due to the infamous cam shredding issues. I put in a Texas speed Chopacabra cam, mds delete with solid lifters, hellcat oil pump, and a tune. For the last 2 & 1/2 months the truck has ran flawlessly. No issues anywhere. I just got new fog lights with drl and put them on without drl and the truck still drove great. Tonight I decided to wire up the drls and so I tapped the f96 fuse as I do not have seat heaters. The lights worked and the truck started as usual. I went on a short drive to see if the fog lights needed adjustment. As soon as I got to the stop sign to turn out of my neighborhood, the truck was coming to a stop and the rpm’s were dropping when all of the sudden it revved a bit then died. Turned it off and started it again and it was fine. I got it up to about 55 mph and stopped at a stop sign. No stall but it sounded like it was going to. I then speed up to about 40 mph and slam on the brakes and the truck stalled out again, almost like the tranny wasn’t disengaged. I had also noticed the truck seemed to be downshifting a bit weird after I tapped fuse f96. I got the truck back home and it almost died on me again as I was coming to a stop. I popped the hood, removed the fuse tapper, and put in the standard 10 amp fuse supposed to be in f96. Went up and down the street, braking hard and no issues. Obviously I need to do more rigorous testing. I will have to see if it gives me **** tomorrow but is it possible that the fuse is related to the tranny? Like I said, I have no seat heaters and before I tapped the fuse the truck ran great with no issues. I appreciate anyone’s 2 cents on the topic. I just don’t like the uncertainty of stalling lol.
