I've been very satisfied with the inexpensive Fahren LED bulbs.

They have performed fantastically in the Projector housing of my '21 Warlock, and with a 3-year replacement warranty, tough to beat.

I've also worked with many members who had Duals or Quads, most sounded pretty satisfied with their return on investment for time and $.

I'm glad you found something that works on your truck, but your proclamation is a bit all-encompassing and not too accurate from what I've learned here.

^^^ Sorry, I was talking about complete headlight assemblies not just replacing bulbs in your existing housings.

I have zero experience with LED bulb replacement in OEM headlights.

If you are replacing the entire headlight the cheap ones are garbage. I read extensive reviews on them fogging, leaking and burning out.

I toyed with the idea of replacing the bulbs in my quads but I really just didn't like the way they looked anyway.

I found several videos on youtube on how to dry out the housings, I think I will start there and look for some better bulbs. It would probably help a lot if I adjust these lights as they are pointed pretty low. Must be the p/o had a lot of weight on the back of the truck all the time.

I would also spend some time to improve the moisture ingress/condensation fault on the light housings, but make no mistake, the best halogen lights will only produce a fraction of the light output compared to a good LED bulb, such as the Fahren or Auxito.

Plus, I strongly prefer the white colour temperature of LED versus the yellow/red hue of incandescent.

I wouldn't install halogen bulbs again if they were free or if you paid me $.

I won't tell you how to spend your money, but I would strongly recommend you read more of the LED bulb update threads.

And I also agree with your thinking about adjusting the light positions.
The following video is my favourite adjustment video and applies to all lighting, AFAIC.

On finding the leak, I would try very low air pressure 1-4 lbs, the lower the better as you are dealing with plastic. Once pressurized if you can't feel the leak, Try spraying soapy water all around the lens and housing. You can also submerse it in water if you have a big enough container.
Once located thoroughly dry it and use a vacuum cleaner to create a suction inside and apply your sealant of choice to the leak.
The suction will draw the sealant in if it is not to viscous, preferably a flexible sealant for plastics. Once sealed do the DI water, dish soap, Alcohol clean (see YOUTUBE). Let them dry thoroughly as there are a lot of nooks and cranny's. Or buy new ones. After cleaning My quads are awesome with LED's.
BTW The DI water is critical to eliminate water spots
The housings aren't and have never been 100% sealed. They are vented. The same reason the cab has vents in it. The air inside the housings heats up and cools off causing expansion and contraction. You leave them sealed 100% sealed up, 1, you'll never get rid of any moisture inside them (even on dry days there's moisture in the air), and 2, you risk building up pressure or creating a vacuum inside the housing that can cause them to fail.
Also wanted to say I was able to remove the headllight assemblis without removing the grille. Seeveral videos on You Tube. The most difficult part was figuring out how to release the white locking tab/latch as it's not clearly stated in the video. FYI the latch pushes UP to release.
Figuring this out took about 3/4 of the total time required :banghead::banghead::mad::favorites68::favorites68::favorites68:

Lastly it is critical to orient the LED's correctly in the housing. I can't remember the details on that but it is elsewhere on this forum
IMO, it takes less than 2 minutes to pop the grille off, just isn't worth messing around with a long extension to get that one bolt, that always likes to spin and cause issues with headlight alignment after reinstalling them. I can have both headlights out within 5 minutes, if I'm going slow and using hand tools. Even faster if you pop a 10mm socket on the impact driver.

Also remember..... If popping the grill out, the retainers sometimes break. Expensive at the parts counter.
I bought a whole bag of them (like 20 or 25 in the bag) off amazon for like $12

Here's 16 for 8 bux

Yup, I keep a bag of them in the glovebox.
