I have a 2017 Dodge RAM 1500 with the 5.7 hemi. It started misfiring and throwing codes for cylinder 3. I replaced the coil pack and nothing changed. It was throwing codes for the camshaft sensor, I replaced it. Still ran like dog crap. Then it started to act like it wasn't hitting off of any cylinder but maybe 2 of them. And it shut down on me. Went into limp mode. I towed it home, took it the spark plugs and they were so packed with oil and dirt that you couldn't even see the gap from cylinder 3. So I changed out all 16 spark plugs. Still wouldn't start. So I took out the injectors and hooked them to a small battery to make sure they open and closed and had carbon cleaner squirting through them to clean them out at the same time. Still won't start. I had someone come and hook a scanner to it, and cleared the codes. But the truck has a few permanent codes. EVAP, fuel cap, multiple misfires.
This truck has 3 recalls on it, okay. One for the PCM. one for the TCM. and for the tailgate. The dealership won't"flash" them because the truck won't run. With my truck being down over a month I don't have the money to pay for the tow truck. And I feel that should be their responsibility.
I didn't know what else to do to get this fixed. I took out the fuel tank today and the sock is black. I will be replacing that tomorrow.

Numerous folks have had the CYL3 missfire codes and it turned out to be the lifter / cam failure problem. As far as the "oil and dirt" on the plugs, you have some major problems going on in there

The recalls have probably been there for some time and not taken care of until the truck is DOA, so I would suspect the dealer would not show a ton of enthusiasm on this.

How many miles on this truck, what kind of work do you do, has it been ticking for a while, sounds like it all started with Cyl 3 Misfire, what are your oil change intervals, what type of oil and filter, for starters pull valve cover to verify rocker movement on cyl 3 and possible others, best way to check injectors is to ohm then out, check for hi resistance reading or an open, mopar injectors are rarely the problem, also is there fuel pressure at the fuel rail, possible fuel pump is bad, if you have no fuel pressure you will not have spark.

Okay I have changed the oil pressure sensor, it was throwing a code. Changed the camshaft and crankshaft position sensor, also throwing codes, changed spark plugs, and cleaned and tested the injectors. Got a brand new battery. The truck has 213,000 miles. Oil is changed regularly. I'm getting 60psi to the fuel rail. The truck starts now but only for 30 seconds and shuts off

Why, is it still under some kind of warranty?

You should probably start with the advice in quotes below, and inspect the valve springs while your at it. Then if there are no obvious signs of cam failure or a broken valve spring on #3, do a compression test.

for starters pull valve cover to verify rocker movement on cyl 3 and possible others

I have checked the compression in cylinder 3. I've checked them all. And I got compression. And there is no warranty left it has 213,000 miles

How much compression?

A broken valve spring would show up as low or no comp, in addition to a lot of noise.

But, a flattened cam is more likely. When you pull the valve covers and crank the engine over you will know more.

When you changed this kind of truck needs reflush and relearning procedures because without doing that it will repeat come come back even 1000 miles. Because they have clean event data. This one related also 5 miles limp mode. All data recorded in Event data behind of main data. You need I believe witech 2.0 for reprogramming
