I'm trying to replace my purge valve and I cannot figure out how to get one of the connectors off. I'll attach pictures. It had ared safety clip that I removed and now it seems there's a white clip that's holding onto the line. It's the connector on the same side as the electrical connector .

Usually clips like that slide up, in the last picture does the white clip go all the way across? If so there should be a way to pry that up.

Yes it goes around, almost like a c clip. I'll try a screw driver. it almost has like teeth on the ends so at first I was trying to pinch it but maybe I need to spread it and then pry it up

Put the red piece back on,but only to the first stop, squeeze it's sides so it grabs the first step of the white connector, then push the red connector on farther to release the white connector

Ok, I'm probably doing it wrong but the red piece just keeps sliding over and clipping back into place. do you know what type of connector it is so I can look up a picture or video ?

Problem solved. Thanks everyone. If anyone is curious I'll link the video that helped .

Once you remove that red safety clip you push down on the top of the white clip while pulling it towards the purge valve, then pull the hose towards the firewall. kinda like a Chinese finger trap while pushing on the white clip.

Yea, you should be able to figure out how a connector works by feel. You shouldn't need a flashlight, mirror anda borescope to analyze a connector to figuure out what the 3 latches do and they work.

Whoever at Chrysler is in charge of electrical connectors, you need to watch this video! You are the reason there are so many zip ties holding connectors together:

Any time you have a shop work on your car, you're going to find more connectors held together with zip ties.

Yeah I would have to agree. Hopefully this thread helps someone in the future who is an amateur mechanic at best just trying to save some money.
