so after 4 months the 2018 3500 srw mega with aisan finally shows up and i plan on picking it up tomorrow.

is there anything other than a vibration i need to pay special attention to or look for on test drive?

also what mods, improvements or upgrades are needed or being done to these trucks that wont void the warranty?

for example, the most common performance items seems to be a stealth module or pedal commander.

Inspect the paint closely.

I would drive it awhile before deciding on performance mods. Might be good as is for you.

I've done tint, LineX bedliner, Thuren Overland kit, wheels/tires, Husky floor mats, Rigid light bar in the front bumper, different tow hooks (so the lightbar would fit) and a Pedal Commander. Happy with everything but the only reason I have a Pedal Commander in my 2500 is because I had it left over from my 2500. I didn't really feel like the 2500 needed it as badly as my 1500 but I like it in there anyway.

i’ve seen several post on another forum that had owners that had a vibration and they had a hard time figuring it out, something to do with drivetrain i believe.
the best way to tell is get up to 75 mph and if it don’t vibrate, it’s good.
once you take delivery they apparently don’t want to anything about it other than blame it on tires

Look at the bottom back corners of all four doors. My 18 1500 had bare spots in that area from the clear coat running and forming a drip. When it got its final polish at the factory it created a bare sop of just basecoat with no clear over it. It was a nightmare getting FCA to fix it but the eventually did. FCA quality control is no more than 4 imperfections per panel anymore than that and they have to fix it.

Drive it and enjoy! I've not had any paint issues on my heavy duties (6) so far, no vibration issues and really good fit and finish. Throw a Pedal Commander on it and drive!

Just basic flaws and dirt embedded in the paint.

It's not real popular opinion, but I prefer rhinoliner over line-x. Mine held up well in my 11for home owner use.

I had the same problem... but FCA approved it to be fixed the following monday (after i bought it on saturday) to be fixed, problem was the dealership dragged their feet for 4 months.
They kept putting it off until i called FCA about it, within a day, i got the call to drop it off at their bodyshop. Free loaner. They fixed it, but they didn't do a very good job.
Such a shame today... american quality standards just aren`t there anymore, in ANYTHING you buy today. Even for $60,000 dollar trucks.
