2018 Ram 2500 Cummings

My remote start stopped working. I thought it may be the battery, so I went to change it. I found out when the circuit board is removed from the housing the remote start works (very weird). I put it back together paying attention to details to make sure the buttons lined up correctly with the housing. After I put it back together the remote start will not work. I lost, any ideas.

Do you have a spare fob you can try? If you did, I would hope that is the first thing you tried.
There is a chance the finger pad (the plastic part you actually push on the fob) has some issues and not contacting the circuit board. You can buy a new fob shell (at least for mine I could) that has the outer housing and plastic/rubber push pads and just place the circuit board in it.

Try putting some layers of paper under where the battery goes inside the case to make it contact better, like a spacer.

That's just the software automated censor doing it's programmed job.

I'd never heard of Cummings GA until I met a guy from there while serving in the military. I remember there were a lot of jokes floating around after the troops heard where he was from.

I am pretty sure it means something else to folks in Forest Grove and in Hillsboro, where I lived for quite a long time.

There should be little saucer shaped metal disks on the back side of the remotes rubber touch pad. They complete the circuit when you press down on them and they flatten out on the circuit board. If the disk is missing, misaligned, or corroded it may cause your problem. I had a remote where the disk was misaligned and the disk and circuit board had corrosion. I got a new shell with the same type of touch pad and cleaned the circuit board with CRC QD Electric Cleaner. It has been working fine since.
