What brand fluid have any of you used for the non auto BW 48-12 TC case?
I searched here and only see the BW 48-11 auto TC case.

When I look online the prices are $20 to $70 a quart except for Valvaline TC case fluid. Some articles suggest ATF plus 4 will work.

Thanks

Following...I am wondering the same thing. I have a 2021 classic warlock hemi non-auto 4x4. manual says it's the 48-12 TC. On the mopar website the fluid they recommend when I input my vehicle says it's for 44-40. Now I'm confused...

I have scoured the forums and keep getting bogged down with too much info lol. Can someone simply recommend a few different fluids that we can use for the TC?

I use 4x4 alot in the winter so I want to change the fluid now (57K miles)

Ok,I found an article that explains pretty good what TC fluid we should be using. It turns out that even though I have a 2021, because it's a classic it still has the 44 TC.

Wow didn't think anyone would respond!

Anyway I called a local reputable transmission shop and was told they use ATF+4.

In my 2024 1500 classic, the ownership manual states to use this for the transfer case. It's as difficult to find as unicorn tears.

It's a golden color not red like ATF +4.

The price is.....

I subbed redline c+ in my 44-44 (2018 1500 w/ auto 4wd in case I got that number wrong) and had no issues. Lived in Colorado so used 4wd quiet a bit.

The auto transfer cases such as a BW 48-11 require a special fluid because of the clutch plates.
The BW 48-12 is gear driven.

The "special fluid" is not actually special fluid. It's a pretty basic hydraulic fluid from what I recall.
