I've got a 2019 1500 classic bighorn 5.7 hemi 3.92 anti-slip diff. I'm getting ready to change diff and transfer case fluids. The diff fluids are easy enough to find aftermarket, probably going with Amsoil or Valvoline squeeze bags for ease 75w90 up front, 75w140 rear and diff additive. However, I can't seem to find any definitive answer about aftermarket transfer case fluid. I called the dealer and they say I have the Borg Warner 44-40 transfer case. We have the 4wd auto. They want $55.20 a bottle for this stuff which is highway robbery. I asked and they are unaware of any aftermarket equivalent. Does anyone on here have experience using something other than the Mopar stuff in these BW 44-40 TCs?

Edit:

Maybe just answered my own question. I just found this on Redline's website. They are recommending this for the BW 44-40 (which I have) and reference the Mopar (68049954AC) part number too. Seems pretty convincing to me!

Listed under OEM compatibility:

BorgWarner 44-40/44/45/46/47/48/49 Transfer Cases
Ram/Mopar 68049954AA/AC
Ram/Mopar 68089195AA (edited)

Would still love other takes on this.

Changed the fluids this week for the diffs and TC, no issues. Definitely easier than I was worried it would be. All fluids were pretty clear so that's good. Probably could've gone another 50k before changing (54k on the clock now). The truck hasn't been called on for towing and doesn't get offroad much so unsurprised at the fluid quality. One thing I noticed with the TC the fluid was a brown/tan color. I was expecting reddish color but hey the Redline stuff going back in was the same color so that was a good confirmation. Used Valvoline easy bags 75w90 front, 75w140 rear (plus mopar additive), and Redline MT-LV 70W/75W in TC.

Do you guys have limited slip differential? My 2013 says it has the standard differential which I took as not anti slip. Also, the Valvoline oil came with anti slip additive anyway. I changed mine a couple weeks ago without adding the additive. Should I have added it?

You only add the additive IF you have shudder on new fluid. All modern gear fluids add the additive now. You need to special order gear fluid without additives these days, if you want that.
