Morning everyone,

Hoping I can get some help with the lemon I've had issues with since week 1 of owning. Like I've said in my first post, there's something seriously wrong with this truck. Currently 23k miles and it's going to have been sitting in the shop for 1 month.

Actuator - Failed during first week of ownership. Left me stranded 40 min from dealership.

Wheel Bearing - Driver side shot with under 20k miles. 2 week wait period for part which I was advised not to drive truck.

Oil Pan - Roughly 1 month after wheel bearing. 7 days to get part, 3 weeks to get into dealer. In the shop for 2 days.

Transmission Seal - 1 week after new oil pan, leaking from transmission.

Oil Pan #2 - Last week - Techs noticed oil pan didn't look right when getting ready to putting transmission back in last. Sent pictures to Chrysler and field rep. Advised to replace it.

Air Suspension - Current issue, along with Oil Pan #2 and Transmission Seal. Warning, system cooling down, please wait message. I drove truck across town and back home. Was trying to lower.

In conclusion:
The oil pan is on backorder and can't get it till Oct 7th. My trucks been in the shop for Transmission Seal, Air suspension, and Oil Pan # 2 now for almost 10 days. It'll be 1 month by the time they get the oil pan and can put it back on. Can't put transmission back in till oil pan is in, which means they can't look at the air suspension till that's all done.

This is a 90k truck fully loaded with less than 25K miles on it with all these issues. I've tried to call customer service on more than 1 occasion. I sat for 1 hour waiting for someone to pick up. Another time sat for about an hour only for someone to pick up and hang up.

I would prefer not to get an attorney. RAM should do the right thing and buy the truck back. Someone epically failed on this one. I work for a large vehicle manufacturer so I know this is not acceptable. I don't know if they ordered 3rd party parts that didn't meet specification. Either way. I've been out this truck more than I've been in it.

Any help getting a RAM representative to contact me or Lemon Law attorneys recommendations in Iowa would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,

I hope they do. That's the general email? RAMcares.com or message on here? Sorry if that's a silly question, this is a first for me.

Iowa Lemon Law is 3 of the same thing within 24 months of ownership or 30 days or longer in the shop. Considering they just installed a new Oil Pan and a few weeks later it already needs replaced along with Transmission Seal. I'm almost 100% sure it's going to happen again.

There's something wrong with this truck. I would think RAM/Chrysler would want to make it right. Collect the vehicle and take it apart to see why this is occurring and if it requires redesign or recall. Or maybe they do things differently or just don't care.

Keep trying Ram customer service. Likely they'll speak broken english. Once you make contact, hook up with them on email, to mitigate any language issue and also have a record of transactions. I recently finished a nearly 3 month adventure with my truck immobile at the service center, waiting for a part which finally showed up. I annoyed the first rep until he advanced me to the "next level". I then annoyed him until he advanced me to "customer retention". This guy was working out of corporate in Michigan.

I'm in the compensation phase. They have a specific division for that.

From my research, it's not productive to threaten the dealer with Lemon Law action. If you go that route, let your lawyer contact Stellantis directly.

I would be tempted to sell it to Carvanna when you get it back or just trade it in period on another vehicle. Of course that’s kind of crappy for the next guy who ends up with it. So hopefully RamCares will come through for you.

Wonder what it was with the second oil pan that caused the mechanic to question it? First replacement an incorrect pan installed?

@DanAR there something wrong with this truck. They had 2 techs working on the oil pan.
If it comes down to @RamCares can't help me out and I have to trade it, won't be for another RAM. They should take it back, take it apart and see where they failed and provide me an equal truck.

@RamCares - I replied to your message and contacted the dealer. They have not heard from anyone yet and did not receive Oil Pan #2.

You don't need a mechanic, you need an exorcist! Really, I think Fiat, and all other manufacturers have gone overboard in cutting corners. If a proper gasket costs $1.25, and we can get one from It'll-Work manufacturing for $1.13 they can save 12 cents on each unit. They seem to be doing this on everything. Usually it's not the big things they are shorting- it's little details that cause the big failures. They can save a few bucks on each unit by cheapening things that most people will not notice. I once had an Oldsmobile that GM did not paint the dipstick tube or the freeze plugs. Yeah- they rusted out after about 8 years. How much does it cost to paint a dipstick tube?

I suggest find out the name & address of the CEO and send him or her a letter detailing all the problems you have had with this truck. Better than dealing with customer service. As you sh** rolls downhill - never up.

Have a 2019 that is in process of lemon law claim. Bought new and have 36 dealer trips. Last straw was limp mode leaving us stranded and unable to drive for months due to warranty vs. delete. 40,000 miles and cost to owner to repair or delete. This emissions system is garbage and needs recall 4th dodge owned and thought this would be last one needed in life bought new diesel and been problems since day 1. Dealer knows me by name and also been very untrustworthy. Anyone else feel emissions is a failure in the later dodges? Anyone else having issues and thinking they have a lemon?

2019, Aren’t you beyond the lemon law eligibility period? Trying to make a LL claim after 6 years seems a bit of a stretch from a legal standpoint. Let us know how it works out.
