My 2024 Ram 2500 Limited (6.7I, 6'4" bed, Rambox, no 5th wheel prep) has both the 12 pin connector 360 surround view camera connector and single camera coax connector in the bumper -- I believe it is ready to accept either the trailer rear-view camera that integrates with the digital mirror, and can accept the 360 surround 4-camera system that integrates with the 12" u-connect screen. Both of these camera systems were options on the Ram Build website but I could not locate a vehicle that included either of these options and still included things that I wanted. So, I had to compromise but now I want to add a camera system to my camper.

However, I can't find part numbers for either camera system. I contacted Ram customer service and they could not find the part numbers. I keep seeing both single view (digital mirror connection) and 360 surround (12" u-connect connection) systems for sale online but none of them list the 2024 in their fitment guide.

Does anyone know the part numbers for these two camera systems?

And, has anyone used either camera system and if so, can you provide feedback on their quality and usefulness?

Hi HarryS...thanks for responding, but no that is not the one as I have the cargo view camera.

I want the camera that attaches to the rear of the camper and plugs into the coax port on the bumper, and is visible in the digital rear view camera.

I also want the 360 surround camera system that mounts four cameras onto the camper (trailer) and shows all sides of the camper in the uconnect 12" display.

That's pretty cool but is it necessary to have all that? I'd get dizzy. The one on the rear of the camper would probably be all that's needed to park it solo. Or save your money and have the wife or kids out there........ On second thought let me find the cameras for you .LOL

Try Benny @AllMoparParts.com If there is a Mopar part number for what you seek, he will find it. They are also a forum vendor.

I also have the exact vehicle you are speaking about. However, mine came with the 360 Surround Camera Kit. It includes all the cameras and wiring along with installation instructions. I have no intention of using this kit and would be happy to sell for 1/2 the current price. However, like you I am not being successful in finding a camera system to simply plug into the coax or "fiberoptic" port on the bumper.

Yesterday I picked my rearview camera kit up at the dealership. It is part number 68586112AA. As mentioned by some, you plug it in and it will automatically switch your rearview mirror and you will see what the trailer camera will see. You should have no trouble because my truck is a 2024 2500 Long Horn. These seem to be a dealer only part. I was seeing Not Available on Mopar parts websites, but my dealer got it for me in about a week. It will give a wide view until you go into reverse, then it zooms in some.

I bought new a 2024 Ram 2500 out of state which has that “coax” connector (left of the license plate) which supposedly accept the trailer rear view camera which displays on the Digital Rear View Mirror in the cockpit.

The selling dealer shipped the camera to me (Kit PN: 68686112AA).
I installed it according to the instrcutions but IT DOESN’T WORK.

Called the dealer who told me to take the truck to a local RAM dealer who will “Flash” the VIN with the sales-code that will enable the camera.

BUT..it didn’t work… THERE IS NOTHING CONNECTED TO THE Rear-Bumper COAX-connector. The vehicle harness is “missing’ a jumper or similar.

This has become a real puzzle…because the local Ram Dealer says that camera kit is intended for a CAB/Chassis 3500 or 4500. No info found by the local Ram dealer on what jumper or otherwise how to enable this truck to see that camera.

BTW: Those of you thinking the 360 degree view system will work for you while driving…. It WILL NOT. It only plays thru the Uconnect (not the digital rear view mirror) …AND it only plays when in Reverse. If the driver shifts into Drive….the 360 cameras TIME OUT after 30 secs.

I have essentially the SAME TRUCK. ‘24 Ram 2500 Limited, 6.7 diesel and Rambox.

It also has the 12-pin and the coax “Fakra” camera port (left side of license plate).

Selling dealer sent me trailer camera kit 68686112AA …BUT THE FAKRA CONNECTOR on the rear bumper left of the license plate….HAS NO HARNESS ATTACHED TO IT on the vehicle side.

Dealer is struggling to find what “jumper harness” is needed to make the trailer camera talk to the digital rear view mirror.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

PRoblem Solved: The unconnected cable was found hidden behind another harness after the spare tire was dropped out to gain better access and view.
