I’m looking to level my truck. Is it better to go with shocks and springs or spacer, and which do you recommend. Any help is appreciated.

I’ve been reading spacer horror stories. Which do you recommend.
I have a 2500 so I don’t really have a recommendation. I Think I would do the Bills if it’s in the budget so you have peace of mind, but I can’t give you an honest opinion sorry.

I just put 2” traxda spacer on my wife’s 1500. It’s ehhhh. Think we will ditch it after first of year with a maxtrack lift. I’m not a fan of spacers my 2500 uses a thuren kit. Some people don’t mind em some don’t like em. I fall in the ehhh category. But for budget friendly nothing wrong with em

I wanted to go with 2.5 and maxtrac seems to only have 2 in for 2wd
Yes highly recommend the Maxtrac if you have 2WD as you can’t use the Bilsteins. I have a 2WD 1500 and I’m truly pleased with the Maxtrac 2.5 kit with Fox Shocks.

For 2wd I’d go with new coils instead of a spacer, just because it can be done for not much more than the cost of a good spacer lift. Rough country has 2wd 2 inch leveling coils for about $150. That’s assuming it’s a V8, I’m not sure what the difference is but the fitment notes say it doesn’t fit V6 models.

Maxtrac has 2.5" front coils for the 2wd RAM 1500, they will be Maxtrac 752425-8
CST also have 2.5" front springs, part# CSC-D3-3

Bilstein have 5100 front shocks, Bilstein 24-274999
But for a little more you can get Fox specific shocks for the 2wd RAM 1500, Fox 2.0's front, part# 985-24-096, this are a little longer than the Bilsteins and a much better shock overall.

For the back you can get Bisltein 5100 part# 24-275002, or go with the Fox 2.0's Part# 985-24-032
Depending if you need a little rear rake after that you can do Icon 1.5" springs and go with little longer shocks.

Maxtrac and CST also have lift spindles for 4-7" lifts and i think you can use same front shocks, and they have also longer springs for the back with longer shocks that will work with those springs.

Have fun

Yea looks like I’m going to go with could and shocks. Nick at gotexhaust quoted me a much better price than maxtrac’s site.
