The factory 8 ohm dash speakers don't sound good and are a pain in the butt to find replacement. I ordered a set of these 8 ohm tweeters and inline bass blockers. These are for home audio but should work in this application. Should be able to get around to it next week for install, we'll see how it soundsView attachment 142179

Those look cool. How are you handling the crossovers?

I have the 5.0 uconnect base system in regular cab with 8 ohm 3.5 dash, 4 ohm 6x9 door and rear pillar. I got a good deal on Kicker Mopar 6x9's so changed those out. Added a Kicker 10" powered subwoofer to fill out low end. Highs and mids are muddy with stock 3.5's, the dash speakers are terrible so hopefully these tweeters do the trick.

Hell yeah. Show us some install pics and review them for us if you would so kindly.

Excellent construction on these speakers. Thick/sturdy frames and large magnet structure. They do sound better than the stock speakers. They play a little louder and have much better detail than the stocks, not as muddy if that makes sense. Overall I'm pleased with them

I almost bought those as well, but I already had Kicker KS 3.5's, so just put those in with 4 ohm 10w resistors first. Sounds good, still brighter than stock but not 4ohm bright lol.

Here's a link to the Daytons - https://www.parts-express.com/dayto...point-source-full-range-driver-8-ohm--295-349 - also on Amazon with good reviews even though they are all home speaker based reviews.

Agreed, 4ohm speakers up there is way too much. I hate that Ram put this goofy wiring with 4ohm and 8 ohm speakers. I've never seen it before and makes upgrading the sound a real chore.

This was the main reason I ended up amplifying my dash speakers. Previously had JL Audio C2350x in my dash, wasn’t impressed and they were too loud.
Ended up swapping for 3.5” Infinity 300M midranges. Best dash speakers for $150.
Rockford fosgate P300x2 Amp powering them. Had to saw off one of the ears on the speaker, fit like a glove. I swear they were designed for our dash.

Did they pop right in with no mods?

Yes. I used a Metra 72-7902 speaker harness and bass blockers from Crutchfield. It was plug and play. These are originally home speakers designed to be put in cabinets but a little wiggle and they slide into the factory holes. Unable to use securing screws but it's a tight fit so it won't move around regardless

Very nice. I looked at those and the only thing that worries me is they're rated for only 10w rms. If I put my amp and stuff in later on down the road, I'll probably have to hook them straight to the head unit, which would still be a little more power than those are recommended. I'd be scared to blow them or not even hear them. :/

Yeah I hear you. Right now I just don't want to drop $1500 into the audio system. I wanted better sound than the factory so I replaced all the speakers and added a cheap 10" Kicker subwoofer. Spent about $250 total and it does sound better. I can live with it for now. Down the road I might drop the $1500, gut the stuff that's in there, and build it up from scratch like you were talking about doing. For now it'll do. We always want more don't we? hahaha
