Very quickly I will post what I think is the answers to a couple of questions.

I have been dealing with not being able to fill my tank with out the pump cutting off after a few seconds for over a year. The problem is caused by the rollover valve not allowing air to vent therefore the gas backs up in the filler neck.

My truck is a 2014 1500 base model, but alll are the same. Ram/FCA knows about the problem but refuses to correct it.

I decided if I replace the tank, mine was 26 gallon, I would replace it with a 32 gallon.

Good news, it worked. No parts to change save the vapor line from the Charcoal cannister to the line from the purge valve on the engine. I reused the line from my old tank and routed it over the top of longer 32 gallon tank and connected it to the same line on the chassis.

If you open the wire loom to get some slack you can lower the tank low enough to work on the connections (fuel line and electrical) which are a bear to disconnect.

I had exactly 3 gallons in my old tank and new tank was empty so that was a snap.

You can change the tank volume with ALPHA OBD to 119 liters to give you correct rang info on your instrument panel, but the fuel guage will be accurate because the tank is the same in the area of where the pumps sits.

Sorry no pictures, I am 72 years old and my accomplice was 73. Rain clouds were looming. We did it in 2 hours on the ground with the left rear tire on a ramp using a motorcycle jack to raise and lower the tank.

I almost cried tears of joy when I was able to put the pump handle in my tank and let it pump with the lock on the pump handle.

I don’t have the fuel fill issue but I’m planning on swapping tanks at some point. Good to know it was fairly easy for you. Gives me hope.

So maybe selecting the larger tank option on a future purchase can eliminate one more potential headache?

I opted for the 32 gallon tank on my 2022 and have no problems, except for a 32 gallon tank, dang that needle moves fast still LOL

I did mine a couple years ago. Was a breeze. Tank was $100. And a 1.5 hr ride each way. Made a day date with the wife and found a good restaurant. I think the issue with filling is a faulty back flow prevention valve which can happen on any size tank. They looked identical in each tank.

I would love to do this upgrade to my 2019. I absolutely hate my 26 gallon tank.

Everything I find by me is $200-$300 or 6 hours away.
All by me are 200-350$ and at least 2 hours drive. Supposed to be going for a day trip next weekend so may take the truck and stop at a salvage yard and grab one of the 32 gallon tanks. I wish I knew if the ecodiesel tanks would fit because a company makes a larger tank for the ecodiesel

I had an issue with the handle of the pump kicking out after a few seconds until I got pissed, and did rude things, and cursed a lot, until I found if I bend the top of the rubber "anti-splash" cover on the pump handle down as I stick the hose in (this just keeps getting worse!), it sits right in my 26 gallon tank.
But debating the 32, as the Ram is now my project truck/the family road trip vehicle. (work gave me a silverado, and we don't do a lot normally that isn't "on the way home" kind of ****.) The 32 would be nice for visiting her dad in FL.

If you mean the actual weight of the fuel tanks empty it can’t be more than a few pounds at most. When I replaced my 26 gallon tank I was surprised how light the all plastic tanks are.

6 gallons around 6lbs per gallon so 36lbs plus maybe 2-3 lbs for the tank itself so a full tank maybe 40lbs heavier.

I am adding a 72 Gal AUX tank to the Bed of my 2021 Ecodiesel. This
will give me 105 Gallons on board. The Best Mileage I have gotten was
28.5 mpg. So, this will give me about a 3000 mile range.

I found I have to turn and swing the pump handle tight against the bed of the truck while pumping, if it is straight in it will stop pumping instantly on many pumps. Sometimes I swing it to the left (against the cap door), other times against the right side.
