I went back and looked at carli.. maybe I missed something but their site says lowered payload to 2000lbs for the rear springs. Does this mean the stock 2500 non power wagon rear springs are over 2000lbs for payload rating?

Here is what Carli just came back to me with, as to why it is a payload improvement on PW, but not on 3500. Again, glad I am going this route in lieu of Thuren, I just don't want to worry about a squat under load. Thuren is honest enough to state their rear end is soft and will resemble a 1/2 ton in terms of stance under load.

Per Carli:

Those coils are shared between the diesel, hemi and PW platform. The PW receives a boost in payload while all other models receive a slight degradation in capacity. A PW has a capacity of 1,444lbs so you're seeing a 30% increase.

I like that. It puts the HD back into the Power Wagon for payload and towing. I will be on the fence now on rather I get the air bags or the springs. Seems to cost the same.

YAY, back on schedule for this Thursday. Instead of further hijacking this awesome thread, I will reply only with a link to my build thread. Thanks for letting me share (and learning).

Nice. Soon you will be able to comment on whether or not the six speed transmission and 4:10s can handle the 37s in your PW or if it needs to be re-geared.

Theres zillions of people who have done 37’s without regearing.
Zillions?! That’s more than billions right? Lol
The thread is all about personal preference. I’m sure someone put 40s on their rig too... breaker Alex is the only 2019 that did 37s on this thread but that was good enough for me to skip the 35s and go straight to 37s off his review.

look me up on this form and you will see that this is my 7th 4x4 and 5 of them I jump 2 tire sizes and 2 I re-geared. Not my first rodeo. :cheers:i had 15k in my Raptor and 12k in my Tuscany in performance and off road mods.
If Harpe thinks he should re-gear, I will read about it. It doesn’t effect me and my set up. I’m happy for him and that his tires he bought 2 months ago finally get put on. Then his goofy 4” lift won’t look goofy any longer!!
Cheers.

Actually, I had a spelling error there... I meant bazillions.

And yes, this is a place that is full of opinions and personal preferences. Thats whats so wonderful about a forum. Its a great place for researching.

When it comes to the 6.4/6 speed combo, my personal preference is it needs a regear with the stock tires. 4.56 for stock, 4.88-5.13’s for 35’s-37’s, and 5.38’s for anything bigger. All depending on how you use the truck. I couldnt stand the stock gear/tire setup, and its even worse with heavy 35’s.

But, I was just saying there are godzillions of personal preference’s out there about stock 4.10/6 speed gearing and 37’s... I have been reading about people doing it for 5 years now. And they range from “it works great” to “it completely sucks”, and everything in between.

I have 37’s on my 2500 3.73 gears. It’s not horrible. Worse than 35’s. I can only imagine with 4:10 it’s not nearly as bad

I have 37s on my 16 2500. Had the 3.73 gears wanted the 4.10 but couldn't find anything I could get a deal on off the lot. I re geared to 4.56 and I love it compared to the 3.73. The price tag sucked though. I have around 20,000 miles on them now. Towing my 16 ft enclosed v nose trailer with my 4 seater side by side in it and other gear I avarage around 9 9.5 MPG at 70 to 75 MPH running 93 OCT.

My Raptor came stock with 35s on 4:10 ( is where the PW should be) the computer calibrate for 37s with the 6.2 had no problems hitting the Governor at 110mph.
I should see the same in my PW. (Not that I need/want to go 110 but I could if I was in a hurry)

When I lived in CO I had the Dana with a higher gear to rock crawl. But my PW is not fitting on those trails nor do I care to do that extreme stuff anymore. I prefer not to anchor off so I don’t roll over and spend 1/2 the day winching. Oh course y’all want prof so I added a few pictures.

Using your preferences, I would want Over Drive to compensate in the tranny. So when not towing or off roading the final ratio to the wheels is balanced. OD can always be turned off.

Share you tire choice and a few pictures please. I’m on the fence on 37s E rated for Cooper Pro or Maxx or maybe the Open Country (I think only D rated is available)

2 months @Trailmaker??? Try 5 month wait. I finally got shipping info. The fates are apparently toying with my patience as 2 wheels will be here today and the other 2 tomorrow. I guess they didnt all make it on the same truck. Shipping weight is 90lbs per tire. BUT SERIOUSLY A FRICKING DAY APART?!?!?!? FML. Anywho, I'll let you all know the room's after I calibrate. I'm enjoying this back and forth rederick

I would have done a charge back after 30 days but 4 months...wow. I would have dropped some off to you last month when I passed through.
Well to amuse us, please put the first two on the front and drive it around. And send us some pictures. That would be Hilarious (your in Redneck country anyways)

I've never understood why people do the "carolina squat" so ********.

And I knew from the start that it would be a 6 month wait since fuel off road hadn't even manufactured the wheels when I ordered them. I guess 8 lug 20×9 with a +1 offset isnt popular lol. Anyways we shall see what happens with any possible rub. This is what discount recommended when. I told them what I had with the lift. Discount tire has never done me wrong yet.

Here are some pics. After I calculated with the 4.56 gears and 37's I'm sitting around 4.11 gear with the set up I'm running. The tires I'm using are the trail Grappler by Nitto 37x12.50R20LT
