Hey everyone, i am suspecting a exhaust manifold leak (bolts) on my 2013 4.7 and i’m wondering about a few things.
1. Is it possible for the “ticking” to go completely away with the exhaust manifold bolts being broken after warm up?
2. Can it cause the engine to run slightly rough for the first few minutes after start up?
3. Can it cause performance issues?
Also, i have observed something very very strange about this engine. I got the urge to touch the fuel injectors (i know, weird.) and the truck immediately started to run better with me just TOUCHING them.
I’ve read online that if it’s lifters to open up the oil cap and see if it gets louder, which it doesn’t. And that rules out that for me.
This engine is old and has ALOT of miles on it, but me & her go way back so i’d like to figure out what’s wrong.
I’m thinking that the ignition/fuel system needs a complete tune-up with everything possible, I’ve done injectors, plugs etc but i haven’t changed the fuel filter (I know, stupid) or spark plug wires.
